Wesley Yates ranks as the No. 41 overall player in the 2023 class and he has some big programs in hot pursuit entering the summer.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound shooting guard has already taken three official visits to Auburn, Stanford and Washington but is in the process of setting an official to Gonzaga and deciding who he will use his fifth visit on.

Amongst those four programs, he also told 247Sports that Arkansas, Baylor and LSU have been prioritizing him and after taking unofficial visits to both Baylor, LSU and additionally to Houston but he anticipates using his fifth official to head to Arkansas.

quote:

Arkansas: "Just the consistency of them talking to me, almost everyday they hit me up. They just tell me things about the school, show me things about the school, show me how and where I can fit in with the program."

quote:

Yates appears to be in no rush in making a decision but is wanting to cover all his bases and do his homework on his options before making a commitment.

"I plan to take an official visit to Gonzaga soon and it's a toss-up between Baylor, LSU and Arkansas," Yates told 247Sports. "It will probably be Arkansas because I already visits Baylor and LSU so I will try to take an official visit there. Then in the fall, I will take another visit to Baylor and LSU as well."

Yates is doing his due diligence throughout this recruiting process and is tracking each of his options with their other recruitments, as well as their styles of play to see where he will fit best.

"Don't really have a timeframe right now," he said. "I'm just letting it play out depending on how things go. You know, kids commit so one day a school is there but then a kid might commit and then they aren't there so really just watching film on all of the teams and see how I fit in. Really trying to take those visits and get to see those campuses and then I will break my decision down by that."

Ron Holland, the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2023 class, cut his list down to eight options - UCLA, Memphis, Houston, Kentucky, Texas, Auburn and the G League - this spring and the five-star updated the status of his recruitment with 247Sports.

"I like the recruiting process, honestly," said the 6-foot-8 power forward out of Duncanville (Texas). "Some people take it hard but I'm honestly taking it slow and if it's too much pressure on me then I let my parents do the work. I'm just here to play basketball."

While he is down to eight different paths, Holland told 247Sports that he feels like four schools in particular are prioritizing him in UCLA, Kentucky, Texas and Arkansas.

He recently set up visits to Kentucky, Texas and Arkansas and broke down his thoughts on each of those four programs as they ramp up their recruitments.

quote:

Arkansas: "They do a lot of recruiting. They're really good at it. Coach Muss, I really like him. He got one of my former teammates, Anthony Black, at Duncanville. Every time he [Black] sees me, he goes hard trying to get me."

quote:

It's going to be a busy month for Holland as he now is set to take three official visits but is also looking ahead to taking more visits during his senior year.

"I have Arkansas coming up the 12-13th and then I'm going to Texas right after Kentucky," he said. "Next year I am going to try to visit Auburn and Houston."

Did they accidentally leave us out of the first grouping? There’s only seven options there.

I love a good top 9 in basketball.

Really puts some extra lead in my pencil.

Curtis Wilkerson said he spoke to someome who watched practice the last few days and they said Brazille is a freak. Also said he and the better twin (forget which one) were both a cut above evryone else in the front court even the AZ State transfer.

Apparently Anthony Black is also killing it on team USA right now against real international teams. He leads the team in Boards and Asssists.

Muss has been sharing quite a bit on Twitter. That's where the clip of Brazile hitting over 12ft is from he shared it.

Council had a couple vids too. Smith with a big dunk.

But yeah Brazile is insane.

I figured Council would be able to come in and really quickly show out because he's already basically a veteran and he didn't have an insane growth spurt after HS like Brazille.

I also don't see how Black doesn't play full time PG and NSJ almost always at the 2.

But, who knows. Black moves through traffic extremely well, but his vision is off the charts.... But so is Nick's.

If Brazille figures out what he's doing in the offense, you're looking at one of the most insanely gifted teams in CBB... And that's only those 3 guys. The rest of the roster is also hyper athletic and huge at all positions.

Yeah Council looks good. May be the perfect 6th man.

Brazile may make the loss of JWill seem like not a big deal. His ceiling is higher IMO.
