You think this level of plane tracking, etc. would happen at a 2-10 Utah or Wake Forest or Indiana team?

I don't think he "just said no" as much as he wasn't the locked-down candidate some thought to begin with. I still haven't heard anything definitive about him from the guys I talk to, they were questioning everyone running with the rumors about him being a done deal and top candidate. They did not think he was as serious as some were making it out to be, basically. I started to believe the media hype myself, should've known better.
That, however, has never been true when it comes to Kiffin. They've thought he was a guy we were definitely focused on as a top candidate from the beginning, and haven't waivered.
He was never kept much of a secret for whatever reason, while the others were. That's why I said that I think we'll end up with a name we've talked about plenty and it won't be a "surprise" hire the other day, everything regarding Kiff has been pretty straightforward.
Leach has bubbled back towards the top of the rumor mill again, and Norvell is sinking. I would be pretty surprised if we ended up with either, but it's not out of the question.
Regardless I don't think HY is done quite yet, he apparently has something going on the next couple days that has people whispering and speculating (and that's NOT just because he told the coaches to not show up tomorrow and Tuesday, apparently there's other things).

I hate to burst your bubble, but...yes. The flight tracker thread on the KU board went 300+ pages last year. A guy got arrested for jumping the fence and running onto the Tarmac when Les’ supposed plane landed
If that’s happening for KU football, I’d imagine it’s happening literally everywhere. But I love it every time, the insanity is what makes sports great

I don't know. There are a few that are not right in the head. Somebody torched Brandon Allen's vehicle when he was QB1. And apparently one of our fans shot one of Nolan's horses. You're right, though, about Bama fans. Couldn't tell you how many times I've read articles about a gump fan killing a friend or relative because they were pissed after a loss. Happened after the LSU game this season.

Have nothing against Leach and think he would do great here BUT a media member shouldn't be as unprofessional as Mike has been with this coaching search.
List the pros and cons of each coach who is being considered. Do a little leg work to see who is the favorite. Then report the facts when they become available.
Mike's also pissed that fans are working harder than him to get a scoop.
It might be Lane, it might be Leach.... it might be f'n Kevin Kelley but the fans will know before Irwin.
