It appears that one of the strengths of the no-help defense is limiting kickout 3's.

The good thing is Arkansas is a top 5 scoring / efficiency offense in the country, but they do so on a relatively low volume of 3 point attempts (bottom half of the country).

Interestingly enough, both Arizona and Gonzaga are also top 20 scoring offenses and shoot fewer 3s per game than Arkansas. Those three teams (all in the West bracket) are the top 3 teams in the country in team points from 2 point FGs.

I think Arkansas will be content to let the guards drive and make it a 2 point FG game.

If we don’t make shots… then we have to grind out as much as we can before a potential MAJOR matchup with Wisconsin. It’s such a shame that potential matchup is in the R32.

It’s the tourney, anything can happen.

Don't sleep on High Point!

With all the key injuries, this thing is feeling more and more wide open to me.

Acuff is so damn good it feels like we can adapt quickly to any team/game. Our offense worries me very little.

Give me the last 4 minutes of defense against Vandy for 50% of a whole game and I'm feeling pretty damn good about whoever we play.

Cal is coaching the hell out of Ewin and Pringle right now, really like how both of them are trending.

Honestly biggest question mark on D was Thomas against Vandy. He had looked great the last 5-8 games of the season and went right back to early season form. Hopefully just a function of tired legs and Vandy's very quick guards.

Will need DJ in a big way to make any real run. Luckily his confidence should be sky high right now.

This may be the first time in 10 years I’ve completely agreed with you on a take.

High Point is no slouch at all, Wisky fans didn’t want to see them either.

Reminds me of Oral Roberts back in 2021 where we went into that S16 matchup excited about the lower seed but anyone that watched them was terrified.

I mean you understand what I’m referring to here right re: with no help defense on screens and how Thomas plays.

As Cornelius noted modern basketball is very predicated on the kick out 3. Maleek gets a lot of kick outs but he’s solid off the dribble with a decent look. Yes, Acuff is better in that scenario but we need both guards to be in a groove to make any run.

At the end of the day everyone here knows as long as we assume good guard play, we’re going as far as our bigs take us.

For those questioning his height, he's quite a bit taller than AI.
I'm starting to feel like he's he going to do something really special in this tourney. The bigger the spotlight and pressure, the better he plays.

Cals dynamic coaching of Ewin and Pringles recent bounce improvement(health?) has me fairly optimistic. Pringle looked like he couldn’t even dunk at the beginning of the year…

I think we get locked in Brazile too. Hope so at least.
