We gave them Vanover so it’s only fair if they give us Abmas?

I was surprised Abmas stayed as long as he did. That’s a dude that can get buckets. Sign him up.

His mouth has to be watering to join a team where there's great talent around him.

Yeah and he was awwwwful against Duke. Other than that run in the tournament he's been suspect against good competition. 3 points vs Houston this year on 1/13 1/9 shooting.

Lot of stat padding in one of the worst conferences. Vanover was all conference.

There are way better options. He struggles against good teams. Good grief, look at the success CV had in that conference

I’m having a little bit of trouble differentiating between some of the names we’ve been in contact with and Abmas. They all have pretty decent stats in terrible conferences.

But I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a basketball recruiting savant

RJ Melendez (6'7 Forward)
Abmas
Will Baker (7'0 Center)
Dickinson
Hunter Sallis
Nkamhoua
Cryer

There is some big names in the portal. Would love to know how much money is being thrown around from all over the country at these guys.

Muss was on Sallis 2 years ago out of high school and he has some really good defensive metrics. Id suspect we throw some money at him.

Both CBS and On3 have him as the number 2 player in the transfer portal after Hunter Dickerson, so somebody might wanna fill them in.

Edit: Council just declared to the draft on Twitter

CBS also had Nigel Pack ranked 2nd last year, 11 spots ahead of Norchad Omier. It is a fact that he has struggled against higher level competition. Maybe that will be different if he has more talent around him. He was better when he had Obanor on the team

Eh, that was sort of true only this year but their good competition is a pretty small sample size.

His torvik grades

2023
All games +5.2
Top 100 ranked opponents (6 games) +2.7

2022
All games +4.6
Top 100 (6 games) + 5.3

2021
All games +6.6
Top 100 (8 games) +7.2

Of their 6 top 100 games in 2023, that included
#3 #10 #15 #30

A lot of guys will struggle somewhat versus that when they're on an outmatched squad

Was silently and selfishly hoping he'd be back, but he has nothing to gain by returning. Good luck to the young man. Hopefully, he develops a more consistent jump shot and 3. If he does, he'll have a long career.

No one is saying he’s terrible, but he hasn’t been the same without Obanor. Obanor cooked us in the first game so Muss made it a priority to stop him in the second game.

Duke 4-15 5 TO 12pts
SDST 2-10 4 TO 12pts
SDST 3-6 3 TO 8pts
UH 1-13 3 TO 3pts

I figured he was gone after he called out the coaching staff in a presser towards the ends of the season. You can't tell the media, we need to be more positive, and it needs to start with the coaches.
