I’ve said this in this thread many times, but we should try to move Stovall to SS and platoon Jones, Coll and Holt at 2B.

Ahem...

Holt is playing out of his mind at 2B tonight. Yes it's UALR, but it doesn't matter who the opponent is, some of these diving catches and plays on the ball have been insane.

ETA - and Coll hits dinger to left center that was 105 off the bat.

I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but Matt Olsen hit one tonight that was 117 off the bat. Holy shite.

Back to your regularly scheduled program....Holt looked fantastic.

I'll be livid if Bolton sees the lineup card this weekend.

Everyone on TV and print media was talking about the destruction of the sport for the run rules after 7, but I would have been fine with a run rule after 3 last night.

Keep it out of the playoffs but keep it going for the season.

Agree 100%.

It doesn't do either team any good to play out a 20+ run game like that. That game last night should've been called in the 3rd, especially when it was apparent that they were completely outmatched and their pitchers couldn't find the zone whatsoever.

To your point, keep the 7 inning rule but institute another that stipulates the game is over when either team reaches 20 runs and there's a 10 run differential (or something to that effect).

Last thing we need is for one of our key players to foul one off his foot or catch a freak injury.

Idk how this would work, but I would do a if a team bats around twice before the 4th inning, game is over. Meaning 1-9 in one inning. And 1-9 again in another. Or 1-9 twice in the same inning.

Or the game is called right there, but it can be finished if all starters for the winning team leaves.

I actually don’t know if I know the answer to this - is the run rule in effect for post season play?

I don't know if it is either, but it shouldn't be.

The Stillwater regional last year is evidence enough of that
