Thompson. I am ready for him to leave. I swear every year our plate approach is the same old schtick. We set a school record last year for K's batting.

These new rules changes favor teams with speed.

Hobbs does the analytics shite, but even then whats the point if you're not actually going to coach techniques/fundamentals or the mental part of the game?

Slavens still sucks. He's going to fan a lot. His approach hasn't changed at all. They haven't worked at all it seems on trying to shorten his swing up.

It sucks, but that is the way the game is played at the MLB level now. From the 60s until 2006 the strikeout rate stayed between 15 and 16%. Since 2006 it has risen to over 24%.

I don’t like it, but I’m not going to bitch about a team that has been to Omaha 3 out of the last 4 years.

Slavens is hitting .333 so far this weekend against high caliber pitching. He is a power hitter. Those types are hitters are going to K.

Stovall this weekend is a much bigger disappointment than Slavens.

Not making any changes with Hobbs and Thompson is going to be very frustrating this year.

I get the periodic frustration with coaching, but let’s not get real goofy after game 2…

Current Arkansas Staff Numbers
College World Series Apps: 3
Conference Titles: 1
Conference Tournament Titles: 1
NCAA Supers: 4
NCAA Regionals: 5
Division Titles: 3
Seasons of 45+ Wins: All

Vitello and Jorn are highly regarded here…those two led Arkansas to its worst season under DVH in his tenure.

The CWS run saved them both last year.

No it didn’t. They’re jobs are not and have not been in jeopardy. Stop being an idiot.

Yep. I wouldn't hit the panic button before SEC play unless we get decimated with injuries.

If things don’t go well this year are we going to pretend that Wiggins was going to carry the pitching staff? Just want to know in advance so we’re all on the same page.

How do you know both weren't going to be fired if the run didn't happen?

You going to call me an idiot again for giving my opinion?

Carry is a strong word, but that's a lot of innings that would have been filled by an ace arm that other arms are going to have to cover now. The impact is worth noting if we end up struggling to find enough effective arms.

Yep.

I gave Slavens a lot of shite last year for turning into an empty calories strikeout machine, but I am glad to have his experienced bat back in the lineup and he’s been good thus tournament.

Stovall has been a huge disappointment at the plate, as has Ibuprofen. Cali aside, those two have been huge holes in our lineup.

I wouldn't mind seeing Mason Neville come in for Bohrofen to see what that kid can do.

Back to back singles by Diggs and Ibuprofen followed by a wild pitch have the Hogs threatening in the top of the 2nd. 2nd and 3rd with no outs.

Good to see a good chunk of the lineup using the Voodoo One. That bat is a cheat code.

Bolton legs out an infield single. Diggs scores from 3rd.

1-0 Hogs

Bases still loaded with one out.
