He grew tired of my incessant bitching on here about his lack of plate production and is getting his stuff together. His OBP for the past three or so weeks has been good.

Looks like ‘bad Mac’ showed up tonight.

Tygart pitches beautifully in 3 scoreless, and McEntire starts the 4th by hitting the leadoff batter and giving up 3 consecutive base hits and 2 runs before getting his first out.

Edit - and another base hit plates a run. 4 hits and 3 runs so far in this inning.

Our plate approach is leaving a lot to be desired so far. Lots of choppers and infield pop ups.

Bats need to clutch up. We’ve stranded 5 so far.

Mac barking at batter. I like it. He's settled nicely.

Bats need to wake the damn blue hell up.

Holy crap. That strikeout pitch was so low.

We got away with one there, rightfully so since Diggs got hosed as well

Our hitters keep hitting rockets at Mahoney’s legs and he keeps mowing down our batters.

He’s in warrior mode tonight. Our bats need to wake the hell up.

Jones comes in to PH for Rowland and promptly kills a rally with a GIDP.

Hindsight’s 20/20, but I might’ve preferred Coll there in the PH spot. Jones has cooled off a lot since his success early in the season.

ETA - and Bolton promptly strikes out to end the inning (though strike 2 should’ve been ball 4).

Hogs strand a runner at 3rd yet again.

Yeah I would have preferred bunt by rowland and pinch hit for bolton.

Not much to that game. McEntire taking four batters to get comfortable was the difference. Hope the bats show up tomorrow.

Agreed, though I’m not sure how good of a bunter Rowland is.

But that GIDP definitely changed the complexion of the game. Went from runners 1st and 2nd with no outs to 1 on with 2 outs, and Bolton comes up to hammer the final nail in the coffin of that rally with a K.

Yep.

I’ll give McEntire credit, though. After the 4th he settled in and pitched extremely well from the 5th onward. Offense just failed time and time again with RISP.

Our bats have been extremely quiet this series. They need to wake the hell up tomorrow.

Bummer of a game. Thought we might get shut out for the first time all season there for a minute.

Honestly Will ended up being fine. Obviously would love to have those first 4 batters back but tonight was on the offense for not getting the clutch hit that we have grown so accustomed to them getting.

Really more than winning the series, I just hope Hollan looks good tomorrow

HR, Triple and 5 RBI for Fletcher tonight. LINK

Now slashing .462/.488/.744 with a 1.232 OPS in 39 AB's to begin his career.

Fletcher doesn't look like he's aged a bit
