Am I wrong saying we might be better off telling Morris thanks for his time in the program but give someone else the opportunity to pitch.

People can talk all they want to about guys like Slavens, Stovall or McEntire, the biggest disappointment for me this year by far has been Morris.

He came into the season a 4th year senior with 50+ IP and had a ton of postseason experience. He had a 2.31 ERA on 35 IP last year, and I figured him as a vital middle relief innings eater and potential setup guy a la what Evan Taylor was last year.

I never once envisioned he’d devolve into a 10+ ERA guy who rode pine, never saw weekend action, and barely broke the midweek rotation.

In a year where injuries have obliterated our pitching and our bullpen is held together with duct tape, we needed him.

Sports just seem so random sometimes. I’ll never forget Jack Kenley being one of the worst hitters I’ve ever seen until his third year then he hits .311 with 13 home runs. Then guys you expect to dominate just lose it for some reason.

Ledbetter following Morris'.

Only difference is Sr. to Soph. but he gives up hits to everyone and can't get outs.

Parker Coil in for Ledbetter.

Morris and Ledbetter gave up 7 runs in 1.2 innings.

With the preseason, early season, and late season injuries I'll go on record now and say if DVH gets this team to a Super Regional it will be his best coaching job since he came back to Fayetteville.

But the Arkansas media loves Hobbs.

Agreed.

Statistically we’re middle of the pack in the SEC in most categories except for a few pitching categories where we’re second to last.

The fact that we’re still in the top 10 given that and our glut of injures is a huge testament to DVH’s coaching and managerial skills.

Jones reaches on an infield single and Holt brings him in with a triple.

8-3 Bears, runner on 3rd, no outs.

Randall Fant is where my memory goes for an example of that. Fant gonna Fant was never a good thing until his last year when he eventually earned back the Sunday starter role and ended the year with an ERA of 2.03.

Slightly related, I'd give my left nut for that Stanek/Astin/Fant rotation right now.

Coll grounds out 5-3 on a great recovery by the 3rd baseman and a great pick by the 1st baseman, but it scores Holt.

8-4 Bears.

Great play but Diggs should have beaten the throw to 2nd.

I may pull the specific stats tomorrow if I get time but it really feels like Bohrofen has been scuffling for a bit now
