Similar to how that loss killed a sense of “we’re turning it on at just the right time” and turned it into “oh, losing in the 1st round of the NCAAT really is best case scenario”

I firmly believe we can beat anyone it the NCAA tournament including the number 1 seeds if:

1. They let us play D
2. We hit our open shots

The problem is we never know what types of refs we will have and we are streaky.

6. NICK SMITH | CG | ARKANSAS

Stats: 11.5 PPG, 1.7 RPG, 1.7 APG (37.7% FGs, 29.2% from three)

In the saga of challenging evaluations, enter Nick Smith Jr. The former No. 1 prospect in the 2022 recruiting class has been battling a knee injury all year and is now trying to make his return to help the Razorbacks make a late push into the postseason.

In the three games in which he was "healthiest", he averaged 19.7 points a game prior to re-injuring his knee against Bradley on December 17th.

Fortunately for Smith, no other freshmen has gone out and taken his stock from him this season. This leaves him still on the cusp of top five due to his blend of scoring, playmaking, toughness and competitiveness.

10. ANTHONY BLACK | CG | ARKANSAS

quote:

Stats: 13.2 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 4.1 APG, 3.2 TOPG, 1.9 SPG (46.2% FGs, 31.0% from three)

If you are buying that Anthony Black is a point guard in the long run, then he may be coming in low on this list. A 6-foot-8, athletic point guard who can see over the defense and get downhill is tantalizing to say the least. However, I am not sold that this will be his mold.

Black's versatility and playmaking on the wing is certainly intriguing. But with ball-pressure, Black struggles to create. He also struggles to operate in tight spaces.

He's at his best pushing the break and getting downhill with given space. Although I think he can function some on the ball in the years ahead, right now I am projecting him as a playmaking wing who needs DHOs (dribble hand-offs) that run him off-screens in order to get him a head full of steam.

I would imagine Black's 3 point shooting as a guard gives them pause. Though he's so good everywhere else.

Well that changes things a LOT for Saturday.

What we should be doing and what we're doing are two different things. This team is hard to watch at times

What did Jordan Walsh do to SEC officials? He gets the worst whistles I’ve ever seen.

Looks like Muss just isn't going to play Nick much because of how much he affects the team chemistry. Seems like Muss is kind of over it and is ready to ride with the horses that got him here.

I would believe that if Miss had made any subs in the second half. I don’t understand why he’s not rotating anyone, let alone Smith.
