the problem with VA isn't, generally, the medical facilities or medical personnel; it's the bean-counters

Here’s Muss’s red/white game press conf. and of course it’s 2021 and we still can’t hear the questions. Might as well go back to zoom

Looking at the red and white teams this year. We gonna be good. I don't remember having that many scorers and play makers on both teams in a long time. Were gonna run some teams out of the gym. I do for see us struggling to rest jaylin Williams and replace his size.

I see your logic, but don’t forget about Trey Wade. He led Wichita State in rebounding last year. I also think Komani Johnson helps down low this year too.

I definitely think they can help be part of that answer but neither one has Williams height. They're only 6'7 and 6'6. We will play some big men who can abuse that and even make Williams work for it. Especially if we make a run in post season

Moody and Justin Smith were our leading rebounders last year at 6'6 and 6'7.

Also Smith was our most dominant big man for most of the year. He also averaged 32 minutes a game vs. jaylin averaging 15 minutes per game over the season.
Our size is more than adequate for Muss system.
I actually think on average we have a bigger line up this year even with Lykes

Yeah I'm not saying it's a huge problem or that we aren't gonna be good. Im just saying it's probably some of the same weaknesses as last year in rebounding at times except with more offense. I'm not convinced we don't make a run for it all this year. We're gonna be really really good. Rebounding is only a problem for teams not draining buckets and I'm not convinced we aren't just gonna make it rain on people.

It's all about matchups in this style of basketball. Do as long as those 6'7 guy can play with the 6'11 or 7' guy it's ok. The problem usually came in quick put back points, struggled rebounding, and then can be tough to defend if they setup and successfully slow the game down.

This team is pretty scoring loaded. It is also pretty rebounding loaded in my opinion. Will be a guard heavy rebounding team...

Umude - Ranked 38th nationally in defensive rebounds, 5th in conference in rebounds(7.7)
Wade - Led Wichita State in rebounds(5.5)
Toney - 2nd on Pitt in rebounding(5.9)
Kamani Johnson - need him to hit boards, 6.7 per in 2019-20
Vanover - Will rebound the hell out of the ball against early season teams like last year.

All of those guys are 6'6" and above...I think we will be okay...but I do see your point...Williams is the tallest, skilled guy we have. I think you see us go guard heavy a lot this year and attack the rim.

Yeah for all the deep balls shooters there are some real slashers ln this team too. It should be quite the spectacle to watch especially if they gel early. I don't see many teams fielding 10 guys who can keep up with us scoring. We should get significant bench points from a team that will have some all star scoring start. We should boat race several teams this year.especislly if the defense is as nasty as I'm thinking it'll be.

I think this team is going to be interesting to watch unfold. Muss has always stated he likes to only play around 6-7 guys. He did that last year, but this squad is so deep scoring wise.

Pendery came to ECU after spending a season at the University of Arkansas as a graduate assistant, with Crutchfield, where he worked closely with skill development and scouting reports, while assisting with recruiting and practices.

Prior to joining the staff at Arkansas, Pendery was a men's basketball graduate assistant at Ashland University for two seasons, where he assisted with all aspects of the program.  He helped the Eagles advance to the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in 28 years.

On this day in 2019: Nolan Richardson Court officially unveiled
The MBB Hogs have gone 30-5 at BWA since then. You can call that Nolan Richardson Court ADVANTAGE.
