recruiting better than they ever have right now
obviously i just don't see how. I mean facilities are nice everywhere in the sec. That's like saying the girls are hotter at one school or the other. Trolling aside we all know every sec school is about even on the campus lifestyle and facilities department. Your gonna have beautiful women and all of the finest food and luxuries a guy could ask for as an sec football player, that should not be a deciding factor.

Update on Lakia Henry from the Texas 247 site:

quote:

Let’s go ahead and start with four-star JUCO linebacker Lakia Henry. I’m told the visit with Henry went really well. He enjoyed his time on campus and had an opportunity to really bond with the staff and players. Remember, this was actually his first trip to Austin, and Longhorns left a lasting impression.

With that said, my confidence in Henry has gone down significantly. If we’re playing the percentage game, I would put it at around 25 percent. Texas did everything right, but I’m still hearing Henry really wants to play in the SEC.

And that’s a big reason why Henry arrived at Texas on Thursday as opposed to Friday. Following his trip to UT, Henry paid his own way to Arkansas for an unofficial visit — he made an OV there back in November.

I’m told that Henry backed out of his verbal pledge to Tennessee in large part because of an academic credit issue — the same one that plagued Gary Johnson, who also attended Dodge City C.C.

But according to a source, Arkansas feels good about getting Henry qualified following his May graduation. And I assume Ole Miss also has a plan place to get Henry into school without any issues as well.

Arkansas has made Henry its top priority heading into signing day and getting him back on campus speaks volumes about his interest in the Razorbacks. I’m really close to putting in a CB for Arkansas.

My take on Otey

He or someone around him has actively searched for a better commitable offer all along. It happens with players who don’t sign early as they become more important because the pool dried up so more interest is shown but especially in this situation where the player tried to commit multiple times to other schools, prior to Arkansas and those schools wouldn’t take it back in the summer.

The case for USC- likely going fire the AD and HC next year but he’ll have the prestige of being on the team and LA lifestyle.

Was once a 4* on 247 Composite, Rivals and ESPN. Yet 247 rankings had him as 85-grade 3* one of our lowest in the whole class.

I hope this doesn’t sound like sour grapes but if he’s goes to USC, thank him for any hand he had in helping us get Knox.

Between the concerns about his speed as a corner as far back as a year ago camp season and the fact he played spot duty on defense his senior season I’m we have Brooks, Bush, Chavis and Catalon.

Wiltfong CB's Henry to the Hogs.

ARKANSAS COULD LAND THE NATION'S NO. 1 JUCO LB (2/4/19 2:30 P.M. EST)
Logged a 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast in favor of Arkansas for Dodge City Community College linebacker Lakia Henry after talking to two sources with knowledge of the recruitment.

Ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the nation's No. 1 inside linebacker and No. 3 prospect overall, the 6-foot, 225-pound Henry took an official to Texas over the weekend but made it back to the Razorbacks campus on Sunday before the dead period hit.

Greenwood DE Morgan Hanna commits as preferred walkon.

He had the same opportunity at Alabama and TCU.

Per capita, Greenwood has to be the the best FBS talent producing program in the state over the last 10-15 years.

Warren would probably be next if not ahead.

What do these two do that the "big" schools in LR, NWA, and Ft Smith do not?

Thought it should be noted regarding the Hanna pickup, Mitchell Loewen was once a Steve Caldwell preferred walkon.

As expected, Danny West changed his crystal ball from Arkansas to USC for Otey. So, don’t get your hopes up.

It seems we may have a couple of spots open after Signing Day if we do indeed miss on Russell and Otey as we are assuming. I can see the staff adding a couple of more grad transfers in the Spring after some guys will have graduated. I wonder if this means we'll still be trying to add another QB like Joshua Jackson or Shane Buechele and maybe an OL.

Honestly if we end up landing the kid from vtech or buchele it may be better for us that we lost otey. Russell I'd still like

Very much want russell, and otey just because both of those position groups turn completely over the next 2 years.

If we lose them, and can add some grad transfers then I will be ok with it.

Lakia Henry's CB is now 83% Arkansas with one old pick for Ole Miss. My fingers are crossed
