that ben hicks is still storey level to the staff.
I don't think that's what this means at all. I almost said something before but I'm not surprised we're still going after a QB. Hicks very well could be a glorified assistant OC being brought in to help install the offense while also being the safety net if we strike out with other targets. There's no dispute that he's better than Storey, but I had a feeling he wasn't being brought in to start.

Myles brooks tweeted out asking who can do a commitment video. Seems we do not keep him. We are all in on both LBs.

Have to hold onto otey, and spivey from here. Spivey is way more important.

Those final four spots 26-29 are in total flux - M Brooks, Otey, Spivey.

The Josh Jackson news doesn’t surprise if they pursue especially with Noland possibly becoming a SEC weekend starter.

If Spivey goes to OM, we don’t have a young RB on the roster so maybe look towards the transfer market.

Not much HS RB talent remaining and it was a tough sell this class with so many upperclassmen returning. Boyd, Whaley, Hayden, Hammonds all four either juniors or seniors next year.

Noland will not be an SEC weekend starter at least rhis season. He might be a midweek reliever at best this season.

You didn’t hear DVH today...

Matt Hobbs, our new pitching coach, really likes Connor. DVH said that true freshmen have pitched for us before, and that Connor would have to earn it, but he left open the possibility that he might be a weekend starter for us. DVH and CM had a good talk and CM shared our spring practice schedule. DVH described Connor’s baseball/football schedule as “floating” and said they would have to monitor it to make sure Connor wasn’t lifting for both programs on the same days. Connor has a responsibility to keep the coaches informed, too. DVH also said that if Connor earned a weekend spot and was starting on the same day as the Red White spring game, he probably would not play in the spring game.

DVH has basically said he expects him to start right away, or believes he has the ability. Now weekend starter/weekday starter he said he didnt know, but he would contribute here.

I could see us doing what Mizzou did, get a guy for one year and another for the year after. Would give KJ the ability to step right in as a RS Sophomore

Here is the video of DVH talking about it

He makes it sound as if Noland is looking really really good.

I think he wants to keep reliable veteran arms in the bullpen plus Kopps could start as the season goes along but maybe not ideal early off TJ surgery.

Campbell, Kopps, Ramage, Noland and Wicklander potential starters.

Looks like Myles Brooks may have been dropped. Seems like the kid is all in for Stephen F. Austin.

I don’t want to speculate about his business but alarm bells have blasted with him not officially visiting and he’s not coming in this weekend and only one weekend remains with no one currently scheduled.

Before you can be invited, you need to submit a copy of your high school transcript (as well as standardized test scores for Division I schools) to the college, in addition to registering with the NCAA Eligibility Center.

The answer to the real question you are asking is yes.

The kid missed his senior year due to character issues apparently.

I had heard he was not even playing, and i thought it was because he got beat out. Not the character thing, but pure speculation on my part. I was never sure why we kept recruiting him.

quote:

he played 1 game. Yes he had an issue. It was a big red flag when Hogs were bringing in all these recruits and they kept putting Brooks' visit off, delaying it. Then they didn't schedule him to come in this weekend. He was gonna decommit a couple of weeks ago when he put that big news coming at 6 or whatever his tweet said. At that time, Hogs talked him out of it.
The Hogs were never convinced he was completely at fault on deal he got in trouble for, but weren't completely comfortable with overlooking it either.

Otis on the subject.

I’m more pessimistic than most are with him. Not knowing his situation regarding the SEC JUCO entry requirement = uncertainty.

Texas and Ole Miss thinks it’s down to them with visits coming this weekend and next.

S Myles Brooks parting of ways now official. He’s going to SFA.

LINK

Second of the week with Dante Walker decommitting.

Now we have two open spots along with two iffy commits from Spivey and Otey.

If I’m Chad/Craddock I take another grad transfer QB whether it’s Josh Jackson, Buechele or even if a situation occurs late after spring ball before fall camp.

My thinking on QB:

Next year - Hicks, Hyatt, Noland, JSJ, KJ

—Hicks will only be here for spring ball and throughout next season.

—Hyatt I expect to grad transfer out in the next 6-12 months if my timeline is correct.

—Noland best days in an Arkansas uniform will be on the mound for DVH.

—JSJ is here for the college experience as Razorback FB player and continuing the Hog legacy.

—KJ true freshman from 3A Mississippi football enrolling in June.

We’ve offered some PWO QBs in 2019 and have Jack Lindsey but 5 scholarship QBs is the right number.

Realistically three (Hicks, Hyatt, Noland) of the five above could be elsewhere in short order and not with spring ball of 2020 following next season. Another grad transfer guarantees us at least three on campus with potentially two 2020 commits bringing the total back to 5.

It seems buechele doesnt care to come here. Feels like this josh kid came on the market and suddenly we all knew we were after him.

Buechele comes on the market and not a peep.

There is a dude on tardville who is adamant that buechele has no interest in is, but that doesnt mean jack shite in the very least.

Both of these guys graduate in May so it’s important for many not to rush into a decision.
