Final 247 for 2018 Basketball Rankings

Embery - up from 128 to 118
Henderson - dropped from 105 to 140
Chaney - up from 150 to 146
Joe - dropped from 163 to 191
Sills - up from 229 to 210
Phillips - dropped from 184 to out of the rankings

Embery is now the only 4 star on 247 only rankings with a 90 grade. Henderson, Chaney and Joe are all now 89 grade 3 stars. Sills and Phillips are 88 grade 3 star.

You know anything about how ESPN does it? I know people don't give a shite about ESPN rankings for football but basketball they are much more respected. Chaney, Henderson, Joe and Embery are all 4 stars but I have no idea when their last ranking is or when they changed them last.

They are only more respected in basketball or touted by fans because they give the most favorable rankings for our commits.

Paul Biancardi is the basketball recruiting director for ESPN.

ESPN 2018 Class

Henderson is the only one in top 100 at 88 and I’m not sure they’ve updated for the final time.

80 grade 4 star is as low as it goes on ESPN before 3 star starts at 79 grade.

That’s all you need to know about ESPN’s rankings

That might be true but irrelevant to what I was talking about. Most college basketball fans acknowledge (at least the ones I have interacted with) that ESPN does a good job anyway, especially when compared to football. I don't know if I have ever even read or heard an opinion on ESPN basketball recruiting from an Arkansas fan.

Obviously composite is still the end goal.

SCOUTING REPORT
ESPN Analyst
Updated 01/21/2018

Strengths:
Henderson is an athletic and mobile four-man with a skill set that is gradually, but consistently, diversifying. He runs the floor very well, is a good athlete around the rim and mobile enough to be valuable away from the basket defensively. His best offense comes when finishing plays around the rim as he's both quick off his feet and able to elevate through a fair amount of contact. He's also starting to establish a fairly soft touch at 15 feet and the ability to put the ball on the floor some. Defensively, he's a solid shot-blocker and rebounder but is going to have even greater value at the next value where he'll be an asset defending ball-screens and in being able to cover the court in full court pressure.

Weaknesses:
He isn't yet a consistent offensive presence with his back to the basket and needs to add a reliable go-to move and basic counter without trying to get too complicated. He also needs to commit to rebounding the ball consistently, regardless of what's happening on the offensive end of the floor. Because most of his offense comes by finishing plays at the rim, he's somewhat dependent on others to make plays for him and needs to commit to asserting himself on the glass regardless. Similarly, there are times when Henderson can disappear for stretches during the flow of the game and not have the type of total impact his tools warrant.

Bottom Line:
Henderson's best attributes are his physical tools at the moment as he can finish, change ends and offer an especially valuable mobile defender up front. As his skill set continues to evolve and his total impact on the game increases, he'll be a prospect that only continues to rise in the Class of 2018.

After the top 50 or so elite players in recruiting rankings, maybe top 30 in basketball it’s a crapshoot.

Austin Reaves is transferring from WSU and listed Arkansas as a pissible destination. Seems there is interest from sides.

Butt hurt because of no initial offer or we don't want him because he's white and "can't play defense".

Hilarious since the only decent defender on our team last year has left.

I don't particularly want him either tbh. Plus having to sit out a year with 2 to play, basically a juco.

I'd rather go grad transfer for sure.
