If Bielema starts winning here with the same formula that he used at Wisconsin then we definitely should start landing some elite backs. There is so much more talent down here than in the north and he runs an offense that will definitely showcase it. He just has to win first.

Totally agree, and I was talking about that with a friend last week.

Given our offense and the dynamics of the south versus what Bielema had to deal with in terms recruiting handicaps at a place like Wisconsin, we should be able to start pulling elite tailbacks next year, if not this year.

Serious question.

Why are we signing classes of 25 and less when the SEC has a 25 per class rule other conference members are routinely signing above 25.

I don't think I'll ever understand the silly math used, but it certainly seems that going by the book is a handicap.

Serious Answer.

Attrition, or the lack there of.

CBB comes from the big10 where there is a scholarship limit in place of only being able to sign to replace what you lose to stay at 85, basically.

Because of this, you have to be better at initial evaluations and have a 4/5 year plan in place for the player.

The numbers will "work themselves out" from guys going to the NFL, not jail, or being injured and no longer able to play, not processed, of course guys are going to be looking to transfer for playing time, that happens every where. It isn't a handicap from the perspective of the APR, which Arkansas was in trouble with.

The math says that if you redshirted say 20 players a year, you would be left with 65, that is more than enough to build a depth chart for a team, that also trends towards having a "veteran" squad year in and out.

The other advantage Arkansas has reaped is having spots to pick up late qualifiers, early JUCO players gaining eligibility, transfers, etc.

There are more than enough spots on a CFB roster to field a team barring fluke injuries to 5 guys at one position, managing the roster is what keeps this from happening, cross training players for positions ets, a NFL mentality, not a we need a couple WRs, so lets sign 10 of them and let it work its way out. 2 QBs and 2 kickers in a class? Why the frick not.

Watching it now, through the 10 min left in the 1st half they have mentioned Froholdt and Arkansas about 5 times.

I tried to post this last night, but for some reason I couldn't.

Anyway, I think Froholdt is going to be an instant impact contributor to our program. He looks, IMO, like one of the best, ready to contribute DL we've got to commit in the last 10 years.

He was getting double-teamed by P5 level OL and STILL, on occasion, blowing up plays or getting a push. I don't remember seeing anyone drive him off the ball, either. If he stays committed, he's going to be a nasty pairing with Philon, Hodge, Bijhon, Johnson, etc.

Ol' Dick has people believing we have a shot at Porter Gustin and locking up Barnett & Haughton.

That dude is gonna be pretty disappointed come NSD.

RD also quotes Pettway as saying he almost committed during the Georgia game but decided he needs to spend more time around both the Arkansas and Ole Miss programs.

I could take or leave Pettway. He probably would never play much in the future anyway with JCorn, Edwards, KJ, Jojo and Hollister all ahead of him. We have more pressing needs, like DB and LB.

I don't like him so much at WR, but I kinda love the idea of him at SS.
