These class rankings really get people worked up for the wrong reasons. If we're being honest, we didn't need anther DE, we are loaded at that position. But everybody was creaming themselves because Thomas is a five star and it would improve our class ranking.

Same deal with DGB, we certainly didn't need any receivers at the time, but people were more concerned about our class ranking than actually signing a class that fit our needs.

quote:

"I am signing with Arkansas. That's for certain. I am just waiting to announce it."
“Arkansas was my first offer and they have been on me hard and they have been loyal to me even when I committed to UM,” Jackson said. “UM hasn't been giving me trouble. UM fans have been giving me trouble if I decide to take a visit.
“This is my life,” Jackson added. “It is whatever I want to do. I am not doing nothing wrong to nobody. That would be the main reason plus I get along with the guys down here. It is a college town and if I get away from home I will grow as a man.”
“It's been crazy,” Jackson said. “At first, people didn't care what college I went to and now all of a sudden they care. That's crazy.”
Arkansas fans:
“It is amazing now, blowing my mind,” Jackson said. “The fans are generous and warm and they accept me. It is a college atmosphere and this is where I want to be – in a college atmosphere like this.”

Randy Shannon
“Denver told me what type of person he is,” Jackson said. “A father figure and that is more interesting to me than just being a football coach. Anybody can coach football. Show me something different than other coaches. Don't talk about football, show me something different. He has been showing me something different – him, Coach B, really the whole coaching staff.”

You goober hog fans have the rep of being the most fun and easiest to troll.

Doesn't help that we have the most peckerwood recruiting guy and the most stale whitebread recruiting guy as well feeding us lollipops and horseshite.

Very true, and its sad that we can't get a couple of recruiting guys who are worth a crap.

I didn't care so much because of Class Ranking - I wanted Thomas for depth, and the thought "steel sharpens steel".

The kid went somewhere else - I wish him well

Yeah, not to go full Hogville, but this kid scared me a bit with the consistent flip-flopping and twitter mind games. Who knows, maybe he was just a recruit trying to enjoy his 15 minutes, but there were a few commitment red flags there for awhile.

Reminded me to an extent of that tight end from Texas a few years ago - Chris Barnett - who committed somewhere, then to OU, then to us, then flipped to Michigan on NSD, only to wash out after a month on campus.

I'm more concerned and have been about safeties and linebackers than I am rh we dline we whiffed hard on elite talent there. We got some good projects but no one that will be able to make us better now.

Thomas was more a consolation prize for that failure to me and now we don't even get that. It's like being on the price is right and getting a chinet instead of a new car or a jet ski

I never truly realized how bad our recruiting info was until this All-Access thing on 247 happened. Now seeing the quality of content at other sites makes me realize how far behind we are in that department.

The only problem I have this class is the lack of linebackers. I know we have some guys, but I feel like we whiffed on an awful lot of LB targets and I don't have confidence that we got what we needed.

I refuse to be excited about having to sign our last resort that we wouldn't even offer till everyone else shot us down
