Bethea needs more minutes.

I’m also a little worried about our scoring at the basket without Philon.

Here with my son for his first time in Tuscaloosa. First time I’ve been to Coleman myself since all the latest updates, pretty cool atmosphere. Roll Tide and let’s score 100.

Gotta be an attitude thing for why he doesn’t play more because he can score at will and is a solid rebounder. His defense isn’t great but that’s on par with everyone else on this team.

I hate that we struck out so bad with Williamson, he just does nothing well. If we just had a tall athletic rebounder, that would make all the difference in the world.

How he won a conferences player of the year is truly confusing.

Could still be under a minutes limitation coming back from injury?

I was so confused. Thought I somehow got switched to a different channel.

Combined with still figuring things out (he missed most of preseason) for sure.

He's gonna have a game in March where he saves us or is the difference. Hes just so long and talented and smooth.

I can say this, having met Bethea I can’t imagine it’s an attitude thing. One of the most polite athletes and took time with everyone who was at the event.

Oats has mentioned him needing to get accustomed to “hard hat basketball” but Bethea tries on D and always goes for the board. He also has expressed regret not getting him more minutes, but then still doesn’t the next game normally.

I personally think it’s as simple as Oats loves Philon and Biz(rightfully so) and Mallette and Trelly(probably a bit to a fault) and can’t bring himself to take minutes from them

For the love of god can we stop trying to trap to end the half? Has the worked a single time this year? We do it every game so it’s not like this is a surprise defense.
We’re doing it to speed their offense up to force a 2-for-1 possession scenario, not necessarily for purely defensive purposes. It worked tonight even though they made the basket.

We had the ball with 41 seconds left and attempted a quick 3 (Sherrell got putback), took a TO to ensure they had to shoot before time expired, forced them into quick-ish shot, and then got a 3 to end half. 5-2 advantage playing the odds.

That guy Chest from LSU is exactly what we needed from the backup postman. Bristow also seems like a missed evaluation.

He’s definitely struggling to figure out the right minutes for guys. No bad answers really, and it’ll be very positive once we get deep in conference play to have a bunch of depth and options.

Did anyone have us going better than 10-3 in non-con?

Love the Oats!

Bristow is simply not good offensively, but he can at least get you some rebounds.

I still think it’s a stupid strategy because it makes a bad defense even worse. The math worked this time but I hope this is the last time we do it.

Bristow won us the Illinois game. He just can’t make a layup for some reason.
