I don’t see women’s basketball becoming a revenue sport any time soon, but it’s popularity make it one of the fastest growing sports in the world. And the contract the WNBA just made with the players will only enhance that popularity. Those women are being paid like true professional athletes now.
I’m not saying give them a blank check or anything but it might be time to re-evaluate where some of the non-revenue money is being spent and potentially re-allocate some of it.

The WNBA is still (financially) all smoke and mirrors that's critically dependent on massive hand outs from the NBA. Not exactly a stable and sustainable business process.

We are of the same mind. A quality women’s basketball program would be a boon to us not a drag on us.

Pat Summit was a hs coach before UT. Osu hired Jim tressel out of division 3. Bo Ryan came from lower division when he was hired at Wisconsin.
