Was he ever a problem while actually in Tuscaloosa?

It seems that his troubles come about only when he goes back to Decatur. The environment that he's in seems to play a huge role in his actions. He just needs to stay away from Decatur period. No good comes from him being there.

It's a shame. A huge waste of talent.

I don't remember him ever getting in trouble in Tuscaloosa. It wasn't long after he left that he was arrested in Decatur for assault or something like that.I wish him well but he needs to work on himself.

eta:I really think Rolando needed and thrived because of the discipline that Saban provided.Hell,he was the Defensive signal caller.3 yrs later after being the 5th overall pick,he's waived.By the Raiders.

Ro had some issues while he was under Saban's strict discipline. You don't remember because (thank goodness) Saban doesn't feel the need to broadcast his teams conduct for all to see. NS has a way of keeping internal shite "internal"....

He beat the Hell out of a frat kid for using the N-word. Then the incident in the 2008 SEC title game with the back judge. That's about all I can recall while he was in Tuscaloosa.

Ro was somewhat well behaved while he was at Bama, compared to his time before and after
I don't know what he was like before he was at UA, but he was a thug while at UA and he's been a thug since he left.

lulz....you think Saban will let that POS anywhere near the team? Get a grip man!

You gotta love dipshits like this guy. The type that talks out of his arse, and has no clue what he's talking about.

Chase Goodbread is leaving Tidesports and had a last chat. He confirmed that Rolondo is currently serving as a "student assistant of some kind" w/ the LBers.

So please, continue to post your informative insight on the team.

Will Rolando McClain be involved with the team at all?
Lots of Ro hate in here.

I don't hate McClain. I also don't love him. I loved watching him play football, and every Bama fan probably thanks their personal god that he played for us instead of the enemy, but don't confuse that with loving him personally. The fact of the matter is that McClain basically rejected Saban and Alabama's attempts to make a real man out of him and subsequently pissed away an opportunity to be an NFL star and a multi-millionaire.

GTFO with the personal demons and bat shite crazy mother. Alabama afforded him ample opportunity to deal with that, and not just Saban's discipline and the family that was his team. He had access to counseling and guidance from professionals.

Now all that having been said, if Saban thinks that he can help save McClain by having him in Tuscaloosa and letting him have a role with the team, I think that can be a very good thing for both McClain and the team, and hope that he's successful.
