at what position do you see an auburn starter being a better player than an alabama starter at the same position? i'm not real familiar with auburn's starters but just guessing i'd say one of their offensive lineman and the guy that kicks off for them. maybe throw in a defensive lineman but other than those, i just don't see nothing.

also...anyone hearing a rumor that coach saban bought a mercedes dealership in birmingham?

Their QB is a better RB than ours.

I've heard nothing of Saban buying anything.

In all seriousness though the only player they have I really like is Dee Ford. The kid appears to be a beast. Other than that I wouldn't trade anybody.

Dee Ford has played some good football and the Coats kid may present some difficulty from the WR position if they can get the ball too him but other than that no big threats as long as we can make tackles at the line of scrimmage on the run game

I'm confident because Alabama holds not only a win versus an Auburn loss in common opponents, but also a 101 point differential in common games. I know transitive property is supposed to be the devil but with the amount of common opponents it is a fair assessment. Plus I would rather have Alabama face 5 Tre Masons than 1 Manziel.

heres why i'm confident.

you stop the run, you stop auburn.

if they can run for 300 yards against our defense, they deserve to win

Someone brought that up on WJOX a week or two ago and also claimed that if you did the same for Bama/LSU in 2011 the point differential was only 3pts. I haven't checked that fact, but it is pretty eye opening if true.

I actually did the point analysis for LSU/Bama in 2011 back in the day

LSU Score Margin Alabama Score Margin
Florida (Home) 41-11 +30 Florida (Away) 38-10 +28

Arkansas (Home) 41-17 +24 Ark (Home) 38-14 +24

Mississippi S(Away) 19-6 +13 Mississippi S(Away) 24-7 +17

Ole Miss (Away) 52-3 +49 Ole Miss (Away) 52-7 +45

Tennessee (Away) 38-7 +31 Tennessee (Home) 37-6 +31

The differential ends up being 2 points in LSU's favor.

What kills me about that is we really should have been 2-0 vs LSU that year.

The rematch between UF and FSU in 1996 went pretty much the same way. UF lost by 3, then when they played FSU again they won by 32. Alabama was destined to win.

They were an underthrown FLUKE hail marry away from blowing a huge lead to an undisciplined Georgia team last week. Why shouldn't we be confident?

Parkey is a better kick off man than is Foster.
