Went to A&M game last week. We sat during halftime and MAYBE during timeouts. Other than that, the entire section stood the entire game.

Keep in mind that ATM was playing the #1 team in the country. Bama was playing a team that had already lost to Georgia State.

When LSU comes to town Bama fans will get what the team needs in a hurry. No fan base understands college football better than Bama fans.

And yes that includes the 2011 LSU game

Bull fricking shite.

I was there, north east corner, lower bowl. Surrounded by former players and their families.

That place was insanely loud all night long. It was a sustained roar for most of a 4 hour period. I've never heard that building be that loud for that long.

Saying it was a bad crowd is revisionist history.

Was the best game atmosphere I've ever experienced. By far.

It's trashy, and I'm not proud of it, but I got into a fight with an older guy behind me at a game over this in the early 00's. It had more to do with him calling my friend the n-word, but he had been screaming at us to sit down the entire game before I finally snapped.

When I say older, he was probably mid-40's. I was just shy of 30.

I was among all Bama fans. I wasn’t talking about A&M. That being said that was the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. LSU is much, MUCH louder, but 100K doing everything in sync was pretty cool.

I've seen Alabama play in 12 of the 14 SEC stadiums (plus several neutral sites). The only times I've seen our fans stand the entire game is when their seats were behind the band (tubas are on the last row) or their seats were too low and couldn't see.

The shakers hurt the crowd noise. Tons of people in my section just shake those things without uttering a single sound.

But when the defense is out there be standing and as loud as you fricking can.

This!!!!! The crowd can definitely affect the visiting team and it gets the players hyped up.

Everyone that's complaining about lack of crowd noise needs to advocate getting rid of shakers.

First of all, those are drink stirrers. Second, I’ve never had a hard time yelling while I bop my shaker back and forth.

You could clap while you yell, which makes a lot more noise than a shaker.
