I’m honestly shocked Clemson didn’t jump us.
I'm not their schedule and their play on the field has been worse than ours. I smell a potential situation for Bama to make the 4th seed. The melt on the rant will be so glorious I may take off of work just to see it.

I’m not so sure of that. They should by all right be ahead of us now and they aren’t.

I hope you’re right. I fear they’ll jump them up if they win out because they’ll have a conference championship.

I seriously doubt this team would feel the same way you do about having a shot. You seem like that type that wears kerosene socks to keep the piss ants from eating your candy arse up. And get off the “We” shite.
Drop the attitude Hywman. We are all just talking football here. Everyone has different views.

Yeah we need Michigan to get their faces kicked in Saturday. The fact they didn't schedule anyone OOC.

This is what gets me. If they don’t punish Michigan for canceling the game with UCLA, they will be encouraging teams to schedule nothing but cupcakes OOC and just focus on conference games. We (college football) needs P5 OOC games to better gauge where conferences stand in relation to one another.

It could be, they don’t respect Clemson and I don’t think they have any reason to respect them. I hope SCAR does everyone another favor and beats Clemson.

It doesn’t matter what we deserve relative to other seasons. If things fall out the way we want, we will deserve a spot as much as anyone else competing for the 4th spot.

The melt will start with Rece and McElroy.

This is just my opinion but I think Rece doesn’t want to set himself up for disappointment while Greg just wants to sound anti-homer.

We were so close to a perfect storm last weekend… makes me sick to think about it. TCU, USC, Michigan, and Tennessee all losing would have been amazing. LSU getting beat by Arky the week before would’ve helped too.

We don’t need LSU to lose. When UGA beats them they’ll be out.

Ok, so I just spent a few minutes tooling around with ESPN's Playoff Predictor and here's what I came away with: Alabama has a slightly better shot than I thought they did.

Georgia, OSU, and Michigan are all basically in, regardless of what happens in the next 2 weeks (barring UGA somehow dropping the GT game).

The Playoff Predictor says that if either Clemson or USC lose just one of their remaining two games, they're out, with their chances dropping to like, 4%. I like those odds.

That would bring us down to just TCU, LSU, and Bama as the remaining teams with a legit shot.

It really looks like TCU is likely in if they win just one of their last two games. Baylor really screwed us over here.
LSU obviously only has a path as the SEC Champ.
Alabama needs to control the game against Auburn and win convincingly.

If Clemson and USC lose a game, TCU loses both games, and LSU loses a game, Alabama is the only one left standing and it's an all SEC-B1G Playoff.

Ideally, you'd like to see Clemson NOT win their conference championship game, so it wouldn't come down to a 2 loss champ vs a 2 loss non-champ, but I think a convincing loss to USCe would override that.

I seriously don't see them putting a Michigan team that went out of their way to play 3 horrendous OOC games in the playoffs if the OSU game isn't close.

If OSU beat them down, the committee isn't going to want to reward them for only playing two ranked teams all season and only five teams with records above .500

I appreciate the fact that, unlike a lot of posters on this board, you are a devoted Alabama fan.

What is kind of strange to me, though, is that you've dogged the offense all year, so what makes you think now that Alabama wouldn't get soundly beaten the first game?

I mean, the offense either isn't as bad as you have claimed or we wouldn't stand a chance anyway.

Personally, now that it's all basically over, and the OC will be gone, I don't mind admitting out loud that he sucks. You were right. Without a healthy Bryce Young we are not very good. So what makes you think now we'd have a chance in the playoffs?

That aside, in a hypothetical situation, let's say we did get in the playoffs and won the whole damn shebang so the OC returned next year. Would you be ok with that?

I’m not YStar but we share similar opinions. If we get in the playoffs, Bryce will have almost 45 days to get better. It might still not be enough time but if he can take deep shots we will have a chance.

Fair enough and a valid point imo.

I do think that, in the event it did happen and we somehow managed to win it all, the chances of O'Brien returning next year are much more likely.

I have zero inside information but I don't think BoB wants to be here. He needed time to rebuild his rep and the first chance he has to go back to the NFL, he'll be gone. As bad as BoB has been, he should still be better than what NE has at OC.

If we somehow won it all, the melt would destroy the earth and likely the solar system. I would take 3 days off to read the rant, it would be absolutely hilarious. God what if lol.

But to your point and a good point about Bob, I’m not sure if he’s looking or happy here.

I think with the time we would get off for practice we could roll out a good group of packages.

There's no way a 2 loss team without a conference championship even has a chance. Fact
