A few reasons, UGA head to head with OM and Oregon didn’t play in a conference championship.

If teams who are not playing cannot move above other teams who are not playing then theres literally no way Miami and ND can move up.

If BYU wins they will move up. If Virginia wins they will move up. Then either JMU, Tulane, or NT will be the other conference winner that moves up.

In the scenario all of this happens.

1. Ohio State (highest conference champ)
2. Indiana
3. UGA (2nd highest)
4. Oregon
5. BYU (3rd highest)
6. Texas Tech
7. Ole Miss
8. Texas A&M
9. Oklahoma
10. Bama
11. Virginia (4th highest)
12. Tulane, NT or JMU (5th highest)
13. ND
14. Miami

The only way bama can get left out is if we fall from 9 to 13 or 14 with a loss.

It would make no sense.

If Duke wins the ACC the the ACC gets left out and then

11 and 12 is two g5 schools.

Well, for starters, this isn't the AP poll. Number of losses isn't the standard.

If it was, Bama wouldn't have gotten in over FSU a few years ago.

I agree. We are in no matter what. That’s what happened tonight.

Huh?

If BYU loses, Miami moves up.

If Bama loses, ND moves up.

The only thing that can't happen based on what the Committee said last year is that Miami can't jump ND since they're both idle.

How far did we drop when we lost to OU?

What about that head to head loss with OU?

Even as a champion Bama still has 2 losses.

Honestly I don’t think having a bye is an advantage. How did that work out last year?

This isnt a regular season game. This is the conference championship. If this happens then conference championships go away forever.

This would cost TV lots of money. It wont happen.

We got in over FSU because their QB was out, not because of losses.

I guess we'll find out if we don't beat UGA.

I do think it’d be an advantage for this team. We’re quite banged up

I want to see the BCS computer poll. The simulated BCS rankings strongly factor in the AP/Coaches for the human component

So, apparently it is possible based on what Hunter just said. This is one of the many problems with the Committee. The "rules" change from year to year.

ETA: And for crimsoncoded, the Committee clearly does not say teams playing in a CCG are safe.

if BYU loses how do we know Miami moves up? but if they cannot surpass ND then it literally doesn't matter.

There is only 1 spot avaliable due to the rules unless...

For ND to get in above us they would have to move us below ND and Miami. How could they move ND up and not move Miami up with them since they both sit at home?

If BYU Loses, Duke wins, and we lose.

1. Ohio State (highest conference champ)
2. Indiana
3. UGA (2nd highest)
4. Texas Tech (3rd highest)
5. Oregon
6. Ole Miss
7. Texas A&M
8. Oklahoma
9. ND
10. Miami
11.Tulane, NT, JMU (4th highest)
12. Tulane, NT, JMU (5th highest)

So you think 2 teams sitting at home replace Alabama?

It would be impossible for them to do this.

Go watch the clip I just posted. This year's Committee is apparently willing to have Miami jump ND even though they're both idle.

Hunter said the Committee will completely rerank the teams after this weekend and if Bama loses, we'll be the only team with three losses in the current Top 12.

No one knows what weight the Committee will give to that potential third loss.

That's exactly my point. They're SUPPOSED to pick what they think are the best 12 teams and seed them accordingly. I don't find it hard at all to see them putting what would be the SEC champ ahead of the other SEC teams an idle Oregon.

If someone would’ve told me, after the FSU game, that Alabama was going to the playoffs, I would’ve laughed my arse off.

But man, this team turned it around. Hasn’t always been pretty, but they kept finding ways to win.

Proud of this team for not giving up.

Not to mention, GA benefited from one of the worse called games of the season.
