We beat both LSU and FSU in swimming yesterday, men and women
small handful of b cuts, a new 1000 freestyle record for the men. It isn't an event swam at NCAAs, but worthy of mentioning.

The Crimson Tide women, ranked 15th, fell 190-109 to fifth-ranked Tennessee, while the No. 15 Alabama men's team recorded a 189-111 loss to the No. 9 Volunteers.

Based on actual times swam this athletic year, we're 24 m and 17 w, not 15 and 15. Tennessee would be 9 and 4 based on times not coach voting.

The Tide also swept the top two spots in six separate events - men's weight throw, women's high jump, women's 800m, men's and women's one mile and men's 3,000m
Alabama 10 first-place finishes included Miracle Ailes (women's high jump), Ruben Banks (men's weight throw), Caelyn Harris (women's long jump), Gabriella Hernandez (women's 800m), Victor Kiprop (men's one mile), Dennis Kirputo (men's 3000m), Doris Lemngole (women's one mile), Lilly Walters (women's 3000m) and Williams (women's shot put), in addition to the men's 4x400m relay team of Samuel Ogazi, Donald Chiyangwa, Peter Diebold and Antonio Crisco.

The Alabama track and field program closed the weekend of competition Saturday at the Samford Open inside the Birmingham Crossplex. The Crimson Tide picked up where it left off Friday, accumulating four additional event titles to add to its weekend haul.
Denver Cash (men's 60m hurdles), Christopher Crawford (men's shot put), Cleo Oye-Agyepong (women's shot put) and Mye'Joi Williams (women's weight throw) captured first-place finishes throughout the day for the Crimson Tide, highlighting the program's 13 total top-five finishes.
10 of the events that Alabama competed in on Saturday featured at least one top-five finish. The long jump, pole vault, shot put and weight throw events saw multiple UA student-athletes reach the top-five threshold, highlighted by the Crimson Tide's pole vault contingent that featured four total student-athletes, across the men's and women's competitions, finish in the top four.

The No. 19 Alabama men's tennis team (2-0) opened the season with a pair of wins, defeating Georgia Tech (1-1) in a 5-2 victory before capturing a 4-0 win over Alabama State (1-3).
Roan Jones would claim the deciding point in both matches, while Filip Planinsek and Andrii Zimnokh also boasted a pair of singles wins to start the season. Jones would also go undefeated in doubles action as he and partner Matias Ponce De Leon found wins against both the Yellow Jackets and Hornets.
