Any chance we're in it on the transfer from UNC? Kessler?
Supposedly Gonzaga is the favorite there.
They are going to reload if that's the case.
Kessler, Chet Holmgren and Hunter Sallis.

Bediako said he was waitin to see how teams did in the tournament....it was between Us, Ohio State, and Texas.....so what’s the holds up now?
Wouldn't surprise me if Bediako commits any day now. He's Bama's #1 priority per Hank (BOL).
ETA: Hank deleted that comment post.

He’s gonna commit this weekend.

If we go with a "big" through the transfer portal, I think Tre Mitchell from Umass might be at the top of my wish list.

Thanks for the info Surge

Crazy how the narrative has changed the past couple months. He was our top target, then we both mutually thought neither was a great fit, now he’s back to being our top target

It feels like we've been on the verge of landing his commitment for like 18 months now.

Penn State transfer Myreon Jones tells @Stockrisers he’s virtually met with the staffs of Nebraska, TCU, Ole Miss, and UCF. Will speak with Arizona’s Sean Miller and LSU’s Will Wade this week as well.
He averaged 15.3 points on 39.3% shooting this season for the Nittany Lions.

Did you get an inside scoop or just reading tea leaves?
ETA: I had a brief DM chat with Hank tonight. He said he thinks Bediako will commit to Bama, but he's not 100% certain. Also said Bediako's phone has been off for nearly 3 weeks.

I want Bediako, because the staff wants Bediako. But I do have the slightest bit of hesitation just because of how this whole process with him has played out.

Added another 60 names to the transfer list yesterday, bringing the total tally up to 793 to start the morning of March 24, 2021.
On April 24, 2020 the list was at 802 so the list is a full month ahead with teams still playing & a coaching carousel still to shuffle out.

Minute plus of blocks and dunks from @AlabamaMBB commit @Langston349 . He has A LOT more in his bag besides these two features.

Yeah this has gone from normal, to odd and drawn out, and is getting close to shady.

Of final five schools on Charles Bediako’s list only Michigan & Alabama are alive in the NCAA’s. 19 year old 6-11 220-pound big man has been strongly linked with Crimson Tide who landed Keon Ambrose-Hylton and Josh Primo from his AAU summer team during 2020 recruiting cycle

If he really wanted to be here, why not pull the trigger already? I hope it doesn't turn into a case where he finally commits and then realizes he isn't happy here and then transfers out next season. Honestly, i'd rather use the spot on a grad transfer that can help immediately if that's going to be the case. Just going to have to trust the staff on this one.

He's probably just waiting to see how teams do (mostly done with that) and who transfers or leaves for the NBA. Fans' desire doesn't and shouldn't dictate recruits' timelines. For all we know, he may have committed and was told to announce after the season is over.

Yeah I don't know. Right now it's still in the "odd and drawn out" stage, but if he still hasn't committed to anyone ~48 hours after the tournament is over it starts to look a bit shady. If it was a situation like JTT in football where he's holding out to try and take OVs then whatever, but there appears to be no rational explanation for dragging it out like this and the longer he does it the more it appears that some shite is going on behind the scenes.

This part never made sense to me. He's been heavily recruited for 2+ years and trimmed his list to 5 around 6 months ago. Ohio State getting upset by Oral Roberts doesn't make Ohio State a bad place for him if it fits his play style and can improve his stock for the NBA.

This part I can buy, but i'm sure he has a pretty good idea from each staff as well.

I agree with that and wasn't insinuating that it should. We've been the favorite for like a year and a half now though and he has moved his commit date back a handful of times.

Possible I guess.

He is probably a little hesitant with Bama’s system. Ohio State is a better fit for him if he wants to be a classic big, but I think Bama will develop his skill sets more for the NBA.
Look at Bama and Ohio State's offense. What professional team uses classic bigs anymore? They don't exist. I don't even think someone like Shaq would be as effective as he was during his career. Bama runs an NBA system. And like nobody else I've seen in college.
If you want to play 4 years, be successful in college, then become an accountant afterwards, then sure, play where you fit. Want to get ready for pro basketball? Then get experience and develop in a pro system.
