Alabama junior college target Langston Wilson has set his decision date for Oct. 18, the Georgia Highlands College product announced on Monday. One of UA's top hoops targets in the 2021 cycle, Wilson is down to Alabama, Alcorn State, Cal State Bakersfield, Iona, Memphis, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, and Texas A&M.

“Coach Nate Oats, you know him being at Buffalo before this and he’s always recruited JUCO guys and always puts them in a position to be successful. For me that’s something that’s huge,” Wilson said of UA when he was offered. “I’ve watched them in the past couple of years. I really like their development with (John) Petty. With him maybe coming back he’ll be a first-rounder next year, at worst-case scenario a second-rounder. Seeing how they play and what they do with their bigs especially, they just don’t have a bunch of guys that just stand around the rim and run to the rim and shoot hook shots. They’re really focused on developing their skill and elevating their game.”

Wilson caught up with BamaOnLine on Monday to share the latest he's hearing from the Crimson Tide.

"We're still in constant contact. We talk somewhat regularly as I do with most schools. I have a good relationship with them I would say, but I have pretty good relationships with all the schools I talk to."

Asked about the message from Nate Oats and his area recruiter Bryan Hodgson.

"They want me to come in and do things I do best like run the floor, block shots, and offensive rebounding," Wilson said.

At 6-foot-9, 200 pounds, Wilson is rated the No. 1 junior college power forward and the No. 2 overall junior college player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Four-star forward Langston Wilson of Georgia Highlands College isn't just one of the best junior college players in America, he is emerging as one of the best feel good stories in the country.

Though his father Ron Wilson played at Villanova, health concerns prevented the 6-foot-9 sophomore from playing high school basketball while growing up in the Philadelphia area. After getting clearance to return to the floor, Wilson had moved to Georgia and was working a regular job when he was discovered in a local Pro-Am. He signed with Georgia Highlands where he showed flashes of brilliance due to his elite level athleticism and length while averaging just over 10 points and nearly eight rebounds per game. Was he inconsistent? Sure. But, his size, athleticism and raw potential set off a feeding frenzy given that he's only played one season of organized basketball and looks to have significant potential.

Now ranked as one of the top five junior college prospects in America, Wilson has earned over 40 scholarship offers and has a final list of 10 that includes Alabama, Alcorn State, Cal State Bakersfield Iona, Memphis, Mississippi, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina and Texas A&M. He has also announced a decision date of this Sunday, October 18th.

If the Crystal Ball is any indication, then things are looking quite strong for Nate Oats and Bama. The Crimson Tide hold all of the predictions for Wilson and look to be in a good spot to add another piece to what is shaping up as a potential monster class. Currently, the Tide's class has five-star JD Davison and four-star Jusaun Holt and ranks No. 29 in the 247Sports Team Rankings, the addition of Wilson would move them to No. 13 while they are still very much for Composite five-stars Charles Bediako and Caleb Houstan plus a run at the top ranked class in the country.

So it looks like both Wilson and Bediako are definitely takes. Would we also take both Cardet and Houstan? We'd have to have 2 early draft entries or transfers to bring in a 6 man class and I'm not sure who those would be right now.
