Yeah I’d have to agree, if you take the Wooden dynasty out of UCLA, they are a good basketball program but run of the mill. They want to be a dynasty again but they can’t even get relevant recently. Arizona has been more consistent in their own conference.
They need to accept the fact that they aren’t going to find/hire the next John Wooden and aim just a little lower. If I were them I’d ask Chris Beard how much he wanted. Then I’d write the check.
Did y’all see that tweet about despite UCLA being a high major, they still don’t charter flights and that was a big sticking point with a lot of big names? They just THIS SEASON started chartering flights to some conference games. Otherwise, they fly commercial.

That would be a huge gamble on Oats though, to go from Buffalo to UCLA in 4 years with that short of a track record.
UCLA needs to be after Pearl or Pitino or Beard or Donovan.

I do agree that someone like Oats/Pearl should be the hire at UCLA

Yes,I want Bruce to coach somewhere else so I can actually root for him. He is a really likeable/Personable guy who coaches a fun brand of BBall.....but gets falsely labeled as a sleazeball when all he did was lie about a BBQ. Hell, Ive lied about worse today.
