Such a dumb and worn out thing. Guess it still works on some of the more naive kids.

At Rivals.com, we don't rank a class for the first time until the beginning of their sophomore year. Because the players are so young and still developing, it's too tough to see enough of them to feel comfortable ranking them until after getting an entire freshman season plus the spring and summer to get an initial evaluation. Even then, it's a conservative ranking.
This year, things could be a bit different. If there isn't any grassroots ball this summer, we'll likely have to hold off on an initial ranking of the 2023 class. In this week's edition of Bossi's Best, national analyst Eric Bossi takes a look at 10 from the class that he has been able to see in person who stand out to him as candidates to be included once we can do an initial ranking of the class of 2023.
quote:
Why he's stood out: Make no mistake, Bewley's twin brother Ryan Bewley is a standout who will be in the mix for national rankings as well. But, at this point I give a slight edge to Matt because of his overall skill. He puts it on the floor, he has an unreal motor and is already productive on both ends of the floor.
Early recruitment: Matt and his brother both hold offers from Alabama, DePaul, Florida, Florida State, Iowa State and USF.

Carter Whitt decided against reclassifying last month and opted to remain in his original 2021 class. That doesn’t mean that his previous finalists, Boston College, NC State, Nebraska, Ohio State and Virginia Tech, have all backed off from recruiting him, but now he is wide open again with the recruiting process.
In recent weeks, Whitt’s offer list has expanded to include Arkansas, Memphis and St. Mary’s. The new staff at Wake Forest has begun to prioritize him, Florida has also picked things up with Whitt, while Alabama and Michigan appear close to offering.
It doesn’t appear that Whitt is anywhere close to making his college decision. Confidently set on remaining in the 2021 class, Whitt has five more official visits to use that he could exhaust once the rules allow for it. His class is at a loss for great depth at his respective spot on the floor, so expect for a nationally prioritized recruitment from here on out.

I like Carter Whitt, I think his passing ability and shooting ability are both close to A+. Very pure looking shot.

Dallan "Deebo" Coleman met with staff from Ole Miss via Zoom on Tuesday.
"Their pitch has been that I can come in and be an impact from the start."

Saw a good write up about Deebo Coleman in a Crimson Crossover article yesterday previewing some guards we are after.

Dallan “Deebo” Coleman
Profile: Deebo Coleman is a four-star, 6’6” guard from Callahan, FL. He is ranked 48th nationally per 247sports Composite Rankings.
Breakdown: Dallan “Deebo” Coleman is a player that Nate Oats and Charlie Henry have been recruiting hard since last summer and is a fundamental, polished shooting guard from Florida. He is one of the more well-rounded guards in this class on both ends. Coleman is a great shooter who can light it up from threeoff the catch or dribble with no problems. He is a matchup nightmare for opposing teams with his 6’6” body and thick frame. He has a solid handle on the ball and can blow by bigger defenders, stop on a dime and shoot from anywhere, and finish well at the rim. He can use his height and strength to his advantage with smaller defenders on him as well. He is a great and willing passer as well. There’s not a lot of high school kids who enjoy setting up their teammates when they know they are a great scorer themselves. Coleman is a solid facilitator which will help him contribute from day one wherever he ends up. He is best known for his shooting, but what makes him a great player along with this is his extremely high IQ and hard work on the defensive end. He has great vision and makes the right play, whether it be a shot or pass, almost every play and sees the game in slow motion. He isn’t an explosive athlete, so this is an important trait to have. Coleman is a bigger guard and causes many issues on the defensive end. He plays hard and can defend a variety of players with his height and frame. His versatility makes him a truly intriguing prospect.
What Coleman would bring to Alabama: Coleman would provide Alabama with a player who can play the 1, 2, and 3 with no issues. He is a versatile defender and offensive player who could make a solid impact as a freshman. Not only does Nate Oats love big guards, but he loves players who can do a little bit of everything. That describes Deebo Coleman perfectly. He’s a big guard who is a great shooter, good passer, good rebounder, and good defender. His high IQ and elite shooting is much to be desired and would likely have him as a fan favorite for the Tide with the way he plays the game. His work ethic reminds me of Jaden Shackelford who is known for his elite jump shot and never taking a day off. He’s the type of player every program needs more of. Coleman told me in an interview this past January (https://www.crimsoncrossover.com/post/exclusive-interview-with-2021-sg-deebo-coleman) that Alabama, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Louisville, and Memphis have been prioritizing him. He has unofficially visited campus twice and told me in January he had planned to try and take an official visit sometime this spring. Coleman is a name to watch over the summer and fall to see if Alabama continues to recruit Coleman hard and if they do indeed land an official visit.
