I can’t recall someone transferring from one school to another and then transferring directly back to the original school two years later.

That's due more to opponent roster makeup + style of play.
UVA historically has really struggled defending 3FG against teams who put 3-4+ shooters on the floor and pass the ball pretty well
The ACC is a trash shooting conference who doesn't look to shoot 3s as part of their offense or multi pass well to set them up
+ UVA 3FG benefits from late clock bad 3s and not actual 3 defense
