10 minute Bruner interview from yesterday, much better than that instagram live one, these guys actually ask really good questions, the questions I was hoping that other guy would.
He goes pretty in depth about what he thinks his role will be this year, why he chose Bama, what he likes aobut coach Oats ect.

I like that he is very blunt and straight to the point. Reminds me a lot of Coach Oats

Good interview. He's obviously intelligent, articulate and straight-forward. Most kids, not just athletes, think essentially like he does - what is my best career path.

IMO, the most revealing comment for Bama fans was regarding Coach Oats' "advanced" understanding of basketball in general and thus his ability to fit individuals into his overall concept of how to play the game. This helps in at least 2 ways: intelligent kids can see this; even more, he knows how to put a team and a program together. Oats is probably the only Bama coach with whom Bruner would have ever signed.

Alternative thought: Perhaps Trendon elected for the NBA draft because he heard that the NCAA was going to lower the boom on LSU. Has anyone heard anything? Are other LSU players defecting?

I'm really looking forward to the problem of trying to keep Oats because that'll mean we're winning a lot of games.Hopefully we'll pay whatever it takes to keep him & Hodgson.

I wonder how high our recruiting class would be ranked if Primo and Ambrose lived in America and Bruner counted?

We made the top 10 for 2021 5 star center Moussa Cisse, 8th ranked player in the class. We just offered him today according to his 247 page.

Word is he may reclassify to 2020.

What a joke the Ncaa is allowing these teams to egregiously cheat for this long. Continuously getting 4-5 star players no matter how much evidence there is.

It's not exactly a shrunken-down list, but five-star junior Moussa Cisse has at least cut things down a bit.

One of the most prolific rim protectors in the country and the No. 8 prospect in the class of 2021, the 6-foot-10 center at Memphis (Tenn.) Lausanne is down to a final 10 of Alabama, Florida State, Georgetown, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, LSU, Memphis, Tennessee and USC.

A move to the class of 2020 remains a possibility for Cisse and while I'm not ready to make a prediction on him, I do feel that Florida State, LSU and Memphis could be a bit ahead of the pack.

All I can say is that I really hope Oats is being careful getting involved with recruits that Wade and Penny are after. He should have learned from Watford that it's a complete waste of time unless you're willing to pay top dollar.

Not every player is looking to go to the highest bidder, some are also looking for the team that's the best fit, a coach they actually like, or academics, or want to stay close to home.

Do you think Georgia offered Anthony Edwards the most money? Memphis and LSU were after him too. It would be stupid to not recruit a player just because Memphis and LSU are.

I think we really got a top 10 class. Primo is a top 25 player if ESPN counted Canadian kids, Ambrose is top 100(maybe even top 75), Bruner is as good an add as any in the SEC and Ellis would also be higher if he wasn’t JUCO.

Yeah for sure a top 10 class with Bruner factored in imo.

You're being willfully naive if you think players who are offered money turn it down more than occasionally, if ever. Whether they feel obligated to follow through on the deal or just take the money and run is a different matter altogether. I'm sure plenty of players do take the money and run. What isn't debatable is that if LSU and Memphis are major players in a kid's recruitment and you sign him there are risks associated with it even if he accepted no money from your program. You are 100% rolling the dice that nothing will come out to show that your team played an ineligible player all season, and as we know all too well "we had no idea" is not good enough for the NCAA.

I don't know if UGA offered him money. I'd be shocked if no one paid the #1 overall recruit and soon to be top 3 overall draft pick who would have been a lottery pick straight from high-school though. Especially with Memphis and LSU involved. Kansas was also a team he considered, and we know that Kansas pays their players too. So even if we assume that UGA didn't pay Anthony Edwards a single dime and recruited him 100% cleanly and rule that option out, what is more likely: no one paid Anthony Edwards or a lot of people paid Anthony Edwards and he took their money knowing they'd have to turn themselves in to do something about it?
