No one really knows what he would add to the staff. Might be a brilliant hire or a flop. I hope we take the chance

When Hurley hired Oats, people might have thought that he didn't bring much to the staff and we know how that worked out.

I really hope he has a good career here. The kid acts like he won't the lottery.

I honestly wonder how Sexton feels about the firing of CAJ. Young Bull loves Alabama. I remember hearing him mic’d up during a cavs game and he was talking up Tua and mad that he didn’t win the Heisman. He worked out with the football team and Cochran leading up to the draft last year. He was also very close with Avery...

None of it really matters but I’m just curious if he holds any animosity towards the University. I’m a huge fan of Sexton. He has a lot to work on with his playmaking ability but he is one of the fastest guys in the league and he has elite scoring ability. The more he has success the more it helps the branding of our b-ball program.

It's not like he had to go to Buffalo, he had offers from Arkansas, and Miss St. I think he liked coach Oats so much that he would've committed to him had he been coaching in Antarctica.

He does really seem excited he will be playing for Oats at Alabama instead of Buffalo though.

Compare both situations. Hurley was just starting out and he hired a guy that won consistently in Detroit, a hotbed of talent.

Bucky is winning at a school that has never been known for basketball.

Must be real hard to win at Mountain Brook, a wealthy area. Please don't compare what he's done to what Oats went thru in Detroit. Hiring Bucky does nothing for recruiting (outside of Watford). If we're going to do the hs. thing I'd rather hire an up and comer from DC.

Bucky won with these kids in the biggest classification.

Dude has been fired up all day. I'm happy for him and happy to have him. He looks like the kind of "big" that will do well in CNO's system.

I just realized who I'm talking to. Just ignore me and I'll ignore you. You base everything off of locations like some kind of freak with a GPS fetish

If Oats does hire Bucky, and I'm not saying he won't, it will be because of Bucky's coaching ability.

Oats has already said he won't hire a coach just to get a player.

Says he was a HS coach and some coaches offered him jobs based on players and he turned them down, because he didn't want to do it that way even then.

Yeah, I don't know if Bucky needs to be hired or not, but acting like it's easier to win with mountainbrook talent than Detroit talent is laughable.

In small town Alabama where I went to school there was one black kid in the school and they put him in all LD classes even though nothing was wrong with him.

This was in the 80's too, not the 60's.

Maybe it was so no one would pick on him idk, he was a cool kid though I liked him.

I'm more than fine with that. I just think that Bucky is a very good coach.
Someone will give him a chance eventually and I would rather it be us than someone else. It could blow up in our face or it could be a smart move.

Bucky has won 4 state championships in 6 years, I think it's pretty clear that he can coach.
