Looks like we have contacted Grad transfer Trey Murphy. 6'8 200 lb guard, averaged 14 points and 5 rebs per game last year. 39% career three point percentage.

Rice transfer Trey Murphy III has heard from Villanova, Alabama, UConn, Creighton, Arizona State, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Arizona, Texas, Cincinnati, Iowa State, DePaul, Stanford, amongst others, he told
@Stockrisers
.

Underrated transfer. 13.5 PPG scorer.

If the JuCo or grad transfer guards we sign are as good as Edwards was for us I'd consider it a huge win.

I remember being like WTF when we signed Edwards and then he became a really reliable player the entire year for us. It was a really nice eval by Avery.

Jackson looks like he has a lot of game. Just seems if they show him film of Alex Reese and the green light he had Jackson would jump on that.

Murphy III told @Stockrisers that he will ‘for sure’ be having one of these virtual visits with UConn and Creighton. This is becoming a new trend with available transfers.

In addition, Nebraska is the newest school to reach out.

He was like a 20% 3PT shooter at UNM who came in and shot 39% for us on a team that had zero shooters.

Was a godsend.

They’re not pursuing Murphy. He will stay out in the Midwest

This is the exact reason I would be crushed if Alex Reese & Galin Smith are on this team next season. if there are 200 transfers available, all 200 are an upgrade over Smith and Reese. Anybody is better than those walking vaginas.

The point is that there are examples of guys who did not have much success with outside shooting early in their careers becoming capable outside shooters by the end of their careers.

I understand your point. The point I’m making is that players like Retin and Releford were able to do the other things well enough to keep them on the floor and work on shooting confidence. Forbes doesn’t have anything else so he’s a detriment to the team on both ends when he plays. Which is essentially what you agreed with me on. I think we’re on the same page, I just think I’m a bit more skeptical about him becoming a good enough shooter to off-set his other deficiencies and you’re more skeptical about who we could bring in for his spot.

Updated wish list

1. Jordan Bruner
2. Vance Jackson
3. Keon Ellis
4. Trey Murphy
5. Frank Anselem
6. Trey McGowens
7. Saquan Singleton
8. Darius Miles

Havan't heard yet if we have contacted Vance Jackson or not but I bet we will if we haven't.

Which is ironic when we’ve had some hyped up transfers like King, Mack, Giddens, and Bolden flop like they did.

I think Reese has a spot if he wants it. Just not a starting spot.

Didn't King do well when he left here?

I wouldn’t call Nick King a disappointment. He just fell victim to the Bama curse and got some mysterious lung infection
