Me too. Ellis said in an interview yesterday or the day before he was gonna wait til after the season but maybe he changed his mind?

Honestly with our luck it will be something we already knew like Herb returning

Just looked back at the article, Ellis said he is possibly visiting Saturday for the LSU game, so that's probably what it is. Harper must think he may commit on the visit.

Probably just that he is visiting. Would be nice if it was more though.

Not that he is great or anything but why do you think Galin will leave? Oats has said that Galin plays hard and prolly deserves more minutes than he is getting now, which seems like a lot already . We need depth at that position ( (see TN game)

Next season is Galin's final year of eligibility and if Oats can get a grad transfer big who fits the offense better then he should. Lots of guys play hard. Galin seems like a good kid, but he's a terrible fit for the way Oats wants us to play.

All of that is because Galin is our second best “big”. Credit to the kid for playing hard and doing the best that he can, but he does not have the skills that this team needs. If Oats is able to bring in someone with the size and athleticism that we need at the 5 and all it costs us is Galin transferring out, then I would desperately hope that he would do that.

If it’s the public knowledge that he might visit, I doubt he’d be so secretive about it . If that’s the case, it’s a huge douche move.

Talking about Harper? If so, yeah I’d agree it’s lame if it is just that he is visiting. Like I said, hope it’s more than that.

Idk if it’s common knowledge he might visit or not haven’t seen anything definitive either way. This was in an article about Elllis from a USF site a couple of days ago.
quote:
“I think Alabama is trying to get a visit set up for the 15th of this month,” Ellis said. “I'm pretty open to all the schools that are talking to me. I won’t probably make a (transfer) decision or any cuts until after the season to see where I'm going to go visit and where I could fit in. So, yeah, I'm pretty open to all of the schools that are talking to me.”

That’s what led me to believe that Harper’s news is just that the visit is being (or is) finalized.

I spoke with Karim Mane last week and the Canadian is in good spirits. A badly bruised foot sidelined him for a portion of his prep season, but he is now back on the floor. He has a few more regular season games remaining before the playoffs begin.
In the meantime, Mane hasn’t been one to focus a whole lot on his recruitment. He took an official visit to Marquette on Jan. 4, and at it appeared he was close to committing, but Mane isn’t in much of a rush. Coaches from Georgetown, Memphis and Michigan State have been in to see him in the past month, and Alabama and Maryland are also involved.
Look for Mane to potentially take all of his remaining visits before deciding. He could be one of the final top-tier prospects to commit in the spring. The NBA also remains an option, though there is a much better chance that Mane is playing college ball in the fall.

I know it says he wants to wait til after the season but he seemed really excited by our offer and it’s by far his best offer. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if he committed this weekend if he does visit.

To be fair, he played with a cast on, so I wouldn’t consider him fully back. He may have heard how long he was supposed to be in a cast and assumed he would be out until it was off, like most people would have likely done. Then again, he may have just made that shite up.

Different subject, but it looks like the ncaa has hit SCe on the FBI probe. But they dont do anything about "strong arse offers".
