I hate that we can't just wish a guy well and move on.

He could have been referring to the Ala player that went to Virginia.

While CBB believes this will lower 3FG%, which it will, it will also have the effect of spacing the floor. Teams like Bama or Auburn who play small ball lineups will absolutely punish traditionally built teams with big men who can't switch/defend 5 positions
That was my initial take on the change as well. It will cause a slight tick down in 3PT%, but not so much that it's going to change the way perimeter oriented teams play. It does however create so much more space for teams to defend that it will make zone defense more challenging to play effectively and open up a lot more dead space for uncontested cuts and drives to the basket.

I agree. My initial take is 3pt percentage will drop some for a couple of seasons then slowly start to climb back as shooters adjust. However, it will fundamentally change the game in other ways. Like I think it will effectively kill the 2-1-2 zone as that defense was designed to shut down inside games. Stretch it out and you leave all kinds of space to penetrate it. I’m no expert but I think the 1-2-2 or 3-2 zones will be the only true zones you dare run. I think Syracuse’s matchup zone could survive. The college game will evolve to much more of an NBA man on man type game. If you can beat your man, you’ll have a big night.

No need to worry about him looking stupid. Quinerly is coming to Alabama. Announcement coming after Pitt visit.

My source on the South Side (also known as @BrianBatko) has informed me that Jeff Capel and Jahvon Quinerly swung by Steelers practice today

That doesn't worry me. He won't be playing for the Steelers. Also who would you rather meet, Mike Tomlin or Nick Saban?

Tevin Mack has entered the portal per Cecil. I thought he might just skip it and transfer straight to Clemson, would make the most since, he is from SC.
I assumed he was transferring because he wanted to play his last year close to home.

Jahvon hasn't tweeted anything since retweeting Nate Oats grape emoji, and Caple hasn't tweeted out any grape emojis.
Feeling pretty good.

I didn’t think about that...shyt...
Ok, on the offensive side of the court, let’s give ourselves a disadvantage all game by pretty much playing 4 vs 5, so that Herb can draw 1 charge per game and miss every jump shot & free throw he attempts. Brilliant!!

I guess we didnt watch the same Herb. He can get to the basket with ease he just wasnt able to finish. Oats will have him work on finishing and his ballhandles.

A site that covers Pittsburgh area teams called Pittsburgh Sports Now had this tidbit in an article I just read...

quote:
As Pittsburgh Sports Now reported to our Die-Hard members first, Pitt is getting a visit from a former 5-star recruit. Former Villanova point guard Jahvon Quinerly will be on campus today to visit with Jeff Capel and the Panthers.
On Sunday, Quinerly made an official to Nate Oats and Alabama.
From the sound of things, Jeff Capel is going to need to use his best recruiting pitch to land Quinerly. A source tells PSN that his visit to Alabama went extremely well and that they’re the clear team to beat.

Love this retweet from Cecil:
Alabama coach @nate_oats confirms Tevin Mack in portal. Oats: “If after two months with a staff, you still have questions about whether it’s the right place, it’s probably not the right place.”
Oats then tweeted that while he couldn’t comment on a specific recruit, they had one open scholarship and felt good that it would be filled with a quality player soon.
He thinks Quinerly is on board.

Oats didn't tweet that, it's a quote from what he said at the SEC meetings, he is being interviewed right now.
quote:
“We have one open scholarship. I cannot talk about recruits but I like where we are at in recruiting. Having that scholarship filled with a quality player soon is my hope.”
