The Hawks will open their pre-draft workouts on Tuesday. The first workout includes: Kyle Allman (Cal State Fullerton) Jordan Caroline (Nevada) Donta Hall (Alabama) Markell Johnson (NC State) Chris Silva (South Carolina) Tre'Shawn Thurman (Nevada)
I hope Hall's perfected a short to mid-range jumper and found himself a bigger set of seeds by today.

They've offered so many guys lately I can't remember which one is which. I just hope he pulls some of those big names in next year.

Here we go again...a poster just posted on BOL that he would be shocked if Watford didn’t pick Bama with the news from the hearing concerning Wade yesterday.

Also in Mountain Brook it’s wear your college day...Watford was wearing a Bama hoodie.

Could be a diversion but maybe we’re at least back in it.

A regular poster or someone that works for 247 said that? Big difference.

Honestly give me Cole/Rojas over Watford right now. I will take Watford but much prefer Cole/Rojas.

Do people actually think he'll go to LSU? If he goes there, I'm going to think he's not very bright. I mean, they might skate scotfree, but there's also a great chance they're going to be without a coach and have the NCAA hammering them. That would be one of the last schools in america that I'd sign with right now.

Regular poster. Not a well known username so it could be a troll or it could in fact be someone who knows him. Just reporting what was posted. I'll believe it when I see it.

The Alabama hoodie is interesting, though. Also someone said a Memphis insider CB'd Watford to Bama and said Memphis was out of it. I'll have to look into that to confirm.

If we get him here is what happened.

LSU made an offer so strong that Memphis didnt want to match so they filled their last spot with someone else.

Well now with new stuff coming out yesterday about Wade he doesnt want to go there.

So basically if we get him it will be by default and not because we were his 1st or 2nd choice.

That is true, he got 3 CB's yesterday, two to LSU, then the one to Alabama from a Memphis 247 guy.

I think Memphis told him he didn't have the green-light to commit back on the 20th as he had planned, which is why he moved his date back.
Memphis is probably gonna get Precious Achiuwa, who is also a F and ranked a lot higher than Watford. They are also probably gonna get RJ Hampton who reclassified to the 2019 class today. I am not sure Memphis has room for Watford, they are probably telling him to hold off til Precious Achiuwa commits, Watford is probably their backup plan for him.

After Watford moved back his commitment date LSU became the favorite. The stuff coming out about Wade could have him wary of committing there.

Alabama could get Watford by default.

I think it’s pretty obvious that that had more to do with Wade being reinstated.

Name: Matthew Murrell

Class: 2020

247Sports Composite Rank: No. 86 overall

Recruitment: Memphis, Ole Miss, Tennessee, NC State, Alabama, Illinois, Florida, Auburn, Iowa State and others

A very good athlete in the backcourt, Murrell was attacking the rim all weekend long and having great success. He played with the ball in his hands more than he had in the past, and Murrell experienced a lot of success. Also, Murrell's jumper appears to be improved, and he can score from the perimeter as well as around the rim now. Beyond that, Murrell has good positional versatility on both ends of the court. He can play anywhere in the backcourt, and brings a variety of different skills to the table. Look for his stock to continue to rise, as Murrell has been a consistently excellent performer all spring long.

Deivon Smith, PG, Atlanta Celtics

Late last summer, Deivon Smith caught 247Sports attention, and earned a top 100 ranking. He’s raised his play since. Smith had some bright moments at the Gauntlet event in Mansfield. Smith was aggressive, and used his natural speed and athleticism to make plays in transition and at the rim. Perhaps where he impressed the most was with his vision and passing instincts. He consistently broke down defenders and kicked it to teammates for open shots. He’s also a good finisher at the rim. Defensively, he’s a pest, that slides his feet well laterally that puts pressure on the opposition. He's improving and on an upward trajectory.

Recruiting: Smith said Alabama, Xavier, Georgia, Georgia Tech are prioritizing him and he’s recently received calls from Kentucky and LSU

Memphis is considered the favorite to land RJ Hampton and Precious Achiuwa, who are both ranked way ahead of Watford and they don't have room to sign all three.
I think it obviously has a lot more to do with that.

Memphis was the heavy favorite to sign him before Wade even got suspended the first time. LSU became the favorite after the date got pushed back.
