I thought it was goaltending. The ball has to be a good bit away from the rim to not have any of it be over the cylinder. Basketballs are pretty fat.

In year 7 opener for Kristy Curry, we just lost at home to Hampton. Our men’s program has been average for a long time but I’m not sure why the women can’t climb out of the cellar.

It wasn’t goaltending, but we shouldn’t have had the ball either. The fact that they overturned the call where Beetle clearly knocked it out of bounds on replay is still mind-boggling. Also that time where Kira pushed their post guy as he ran by him and their guy getting called for an offensive foul is one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen in my life. That was just horrible.

The LSU / KEntucky game ended last year with an LSU tip in at the buzzer that should have been called goal tending, or at least, should have been called over the Bama one last night.
This is the image of that one

Time to bring Madonna Thompson home. If they can’t beat Hampton, they are going to be an auto win in the SEC. Sounds like Curry has lost this team.

That offensive foul call against them was one the worst calls I’ve ever seen in a basketball game. Especially for a ref at the collegiate level, but I think it was a product of oats working those refs hard the entire game. I loved the intensity he showed from the opening tip.

Nvm I bet I know why I was liking every tweet from Kira’s mom going at Christianne and she would’ve gotten the notification from it lmaoooooo

I think BY RULE it was goal tending. But, it's usually not called that closely. The ball was nearly completely out of the cylinder, and it was bouncing out, not in.

But, as far as the call with Beetle, yes he knocked it out of the guy's hands, but it went off the dude's hip.

Yeah, I was going to mention that one. It looked terrible. Then I started thinking that maybe Broduer (sp?) was actually executing a sneaky moving screen and that's why our guy shoved him out of the way. I'd like to go back and watch it again.Maybe Oats had told the officials to watch for it.

Or, maybe it was just a terrible call.

Brodeur was setting moving screens all night long. It was absurd. Some of them weren't even good, subtle moving screens - they were just blatant. (Oats went nuts about it a few times - he absolutely was in the ref's ear about it.) That last foul on him looked pretty laughably bad, but there was an element of basketball karma to it.

I don't think anyone in the stands could see anything about the Bolden call. The views on the big screen were terrible. On the other hand, it certainly didn't look like goaltending, although I guess by the letter of the law you could make a case that it was too close to overturn.

You couldn't see much on the TV either. Of course Wimp and Eli were just like, "Can't tell. Let's continue rambling on about god knows what..." But, if you looked really closely, through a gap in the players, you could see the ball going off the guy's hip. Now, you couldn't see where Beetle's hand was at the time, but you could make the assumption that it wouldn't be knocked lose yet if he hadn't already slapped the ball. That said, I was surprised they overturned it, even though I do think a better angle would have clearly shown it was the right call.

Wimp honestly ruins broadcasts for me... I don't need that much homer in my announcers.

I'm with Oats on the goal tend call though, you can't call that a goal tend when in real time that play only gets called 1/100 times.

It's like listening to a drunk grandpa. I appreciate what he's done for Alabama basketball, but analyst isn't his calling.

He blamed Herb for getting hurt. "If he was late, he wouldn't have gotten injured!".

Even if true, pipe down old man (and I love the guy!)
