Just hope LSU don’t thump us.

This next stretch is going to determine our season. The turnovers have to be cleaned up. I thought we gotten that under control but the last two games have been very very sloppy

Seems like LSU has very little depth. They only played 7 players against Texas. Get them into foul trouble and they can be had.

I see too many players just try and bowl their way to the basket between too many players. I don't think Jones should ever drive to the basket unless he has a clear lane advantage. Same goes for Bolton.

Also someone on my twitter feed said we are an elite 8 team after last night's win. Wow. NOt only is our team's BB IQ low we got a fan or two whose BB IQ is low. Yes Michael I am talking about you.

Getting them in foul trouble on the road is unlikely. Not saying we can’t or won’t win, but I just wouldn’t rely on getting them in foul trouble.

Bolden needs to slow down a notch when he has the ball. He gets going too fast and loses it or trips over himself.

LSU line? -6?

Not saying that's what we should do,but it's one way to beat them.
I want us to shoot well, defend and not have many turnovers.

We can win.

He thinks he can dribble through 4 players at once.

Jones and to some degree so does Kira

We had 16 TO's to only 9 assists. Kira had 3 assists and 4 TO's

With the way things were starting for this team 12-7 is looking mighty good. It got a little hairy down the stretch, but anytime we need to close the show at the free-throw line, we are skating on thin, thin ice. Herbert Jones and John Petty can sure make you pucker up, one brick at a time. Still, good survival and on to the next one.

Jones is getting better at the FT line but beats me why Petty is not an 85% FT shooter. He was 3 of 7 last night

Mental toughness. Some of these kids are hardwired to be assassins and they crave those big moments. Others are allowing the moment to dominate them.

last two games we've had 27 turnovers in one and given up 31 more shots than we took in the other

and won both

those little 2 minute spurts where we score 12-14 points go a long way.

We just need more of them.

I’m hoping against hope that Nate figured we could win these last two without our best effort and allowed them to gear down to conserve mental and physical energy. Now, we’ve got to elevate back to UF/UK level to have a chance to win these next two. If not, I fear we’ve hit the wall as we’ve discussed and may be out of gas for the stretch run.

This is where the S&C guy earns his paycheck as any good Marine or SEAL will tell you, fatigue is mostly mental.

Over the next couple of weeks, they can play hard and crisp and play their way in, they can collapse and play their way out, or somewhere in between and keep riding the Bubble.

Honestly we haven’t played a complete game on this run. If we play a complete game we probably score 85-90 and win by double digits against most of our remaining schedule. I know that’s hard in basketball though. We will see a huge improvement in Oats second year with ball security. That’s more a mentality then anything. Smart players don’t turn the ball over as much. Right now they are focusing on pushing but don’t think once the lane is defended. After a full offseason and season in the offense it will slow down for them. They’ll be able to pull back and stop throwing the ball right to the defense. Better ball handlers will help too. We have 2 ball handlers and both are giddy with the ball at that.

It’s a bit weird to have Alabama basketball score 77 points in back to back games and have the initial reaction be “what is wrong with the offense?”

I personally didn’t think Vanderbilt really did anything to hold us down - we held ourselves down with the turnovers.

I didn’t get to see this game though. The only things that jump out at me from the box score are a) we didn’t really shoot that many 3s, and b) got killed on the boards (which is a theme of the last few pages of this thread)

We do need to get back to the way we were playing before the Vanderbilt game if we want to beat LSU in Baton Rouge.

The SEC doesn’t have a team ranked above 25th in KenPom, but here’s what should make the title race entertaining: UK (25), ARK (29), Auburn (33), LSU (36), Florida (38), Miss St (41), and Alabama (42) all rank within 17 spots of each other. Tennessee not far behind at 49.

I really don’t understand why State is ranked so high. I mean what am I missing?
