He is Ambrose's teammate, I think we have a shot.

Not sure if it's legit or not, but I hope he comes. Lol

Nate needs two more solid players to get this party started. Hopefully he can get those this cycle without having to depend on transfers....again.
Keon Ambrose-Hylton, James Rojas, Juwan Gary, and Jahvon Quinerly are going to help big time if we only lose Beetle.

One of them won't be back.

Do y’all think Vandy is the only team in the league we would have beaten last night?
Posted on 1/23/20 at 5:32 pm to mistaken4193
That came out of my mouth last night for sure. We were bad.
But I'll take the W.
the 3 backcourt turnovers with just one defender present melted me to shreds

Nope. If we were playing most any other SEC team in that gym they would have looked terrible too.
If we were playing any other SEC team outside that gym I doubt we would have looked as bad.

That gym didn’t cause 25 turnovers.

You sure?
We've almost always played like crap there no matter who was the coach. I said it earlier, but that 15 point win was the 2nd or 3rd largest margin of victory we've ever had in that gym - which dates back to 1962. All those NCAA teams of CM, Wimp, and Gottfried also struggled there.
I'm not saying we played great but let's not act like that type of performance is something unusual when Bama goes to Nashville.

Did you watch the game?
How many times did we literally pass it directly to them after a rebound 85+ feet away from the rim?
I can buy that the gym causes problems with shooting or with communication from Oats/staff to the players on the court, but that gym (which was damn near empty by the way) doesn't create unforced, unpressured turnovers at a greater rate than any other gym in America.
We were just sloppy as hell and completely careless with the basketball.

I think playing a team who hadn't won an SEC game in 2 years had an effect on our team's focus.
The energy was there but focus was not which causes unforced turnovers whether its basketball or football.

We played like a careless, cocky team. They went in with an attitude of just being better and it showed. They weren't playing smart basketball very often. They had a few spurts of really smart basketball, but it was followed by extended periods of just careless, sloppy, frustrating crap.

We were getting too complacent. Definitely a lot of teachable moments in that one and it's probably a good thing, we need to get refocused with LSU and Arkansas coming up.

It didn't cause 25 turnovers, but that layout absolutely fricks with your depth perception and peripheral vision.

Has Oats made Petty draftable? Or will he back for his senior year?
He still turns it over plenty but he's a completely different player this year.

I get that, but even after last night Vanderbilt is still only forcing 15 turnovers per game and is probably one of the three worst P5 teams in the country.
We were just careless and reckless with the basketball way too much last night and it would have gotten us beat against anyone left on our schedule.

He's gotten some draft buzz lately, but it seems to be for 2021 and not 2020.
Things can change if he keeps this up though.

He’s going to need more developing
Way too many turnovers and just “forcing” things, that just won’t be tolerable in the next level
