Nate Oats on Anfernee McLemore’s comment: “I got a lot of respect for McLemore. He’s a great player. … I actually like him as a player. He plays hard. I didn’t mind him adding a little bit of spice to the rivalry. I kind of leave it out there myself a little bit."

Oats said the quote, though, was on the screen and was the last thing the players saw when they left the locker room. “It’s nice he gave us that."

congrats on the big win. Told you guys when yall hired oats that you are getting a great coach.

The key is being consistent for the rest of the season.

We've played the toughest SEC schedule in the conference so far via KenPom and are 2-2 with a 2OT road loss and a close road loss.

Is it wrong that I believe we are a top 5 team in the conference?

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but damn, I wish we could replay the first 10 games of the year. Those Penn and URI losses absolutely suck for our resume.

ETA: And I think we would boatrace them now. I guess that's just the growing pains adapting to a new system. You can practice all you want but it doesn't matter near as much as game experience.

We're 6th per KenPom, but that includes the first month and I think anybody with a brain would say we are much better than we were then.

Auburn forward Anfernee McLemore said that Alabama’s Coleman Coliseum was his favorite visiting SEC venue to play in, stating, “I like the look of disappointment on their faces when we win.”

Something along the lines of, "Coleman is my favorite place to play. I like to see the look of disappointment in their faces when they lose."

Meh, chalk them up as learning experiences.
Those losses probably helped wins like tonight

Nah, I'd have LSU, Arkansas, Bama, Auburn and Kentucky as the top 5 currently, in no particular order. Florida has just been playing too strange to put in there right now.

There are probably 10-12 teams in the league that are serious issues if you go to their gym no matter who you are

LSU
Auburn
Kentucky
Arkansas
Alabama
Georgia
Florida

Then you have the enigmas of South Carolina and Missouri. Texas A&M is playing better ball. State has dudes but who knows with them.

Honestly right now the 3 worst teams, IMHO, are Tennessee, Ole Miss and (clearly) Vanderbilt.

Tennessee has been downright bad since that Memphis game and post-Turner gone.

Just got home from the game. Coleman was electric tonight. Bama fans brought it. It was packed with a ton of Auburn fans. It was fun waving bye to them as they exited with 2 minutes to go. Great win to build off of.

frick Frank, he always screws over this conference by being bad to mediocre in OOC and then ruins resumes in the league

No doubt, all those teams are having issues with injures and suspensions

I honestly believe this team is going to make a run now. One thing that separates Oats from the previous coaches, is that his teams can score. No more of this 5-10 min stretches of bad offensive basketball and relying on your defense to win the game.

I mean they truly make no sense whatsoever. Like, it makes sense because it's what they do, but in general it makes absolutely none.

All I can figure out is their system and style insists on max energy, effort and focus and when it isn't there they can lose to absolutely anybody. And they don't figure it all out unt conference play.

But lawd it's weird.

Like Bryant said, Saturday will tell us what we need to know.

If we come out and play a B+ or A game, I'll be all in. If we lay a stinker, gonna feel very same ole.

This game was great and it being Auburn was awesome, but chances are they are going to lose a few games the next 3 weeks as their schedule revs up.
