I think we beat Kentucky and Auburn and then make a surge for a top 25 spot to finish the season.

Alabama Crimson Tide (8-6, 1-1)
KenPom : #52
NET : #56

Upcoming Schedule
@ Kentucky (KP #18, NET #26) (22% per KP)
vs Auburn (KP #16, NET #6) (44% per KP)
vs Missouri (KP #56, NET #72) (66% per KP)
@ Vanderbilt (KP #126, NET #114) (65% per KP)
vs Kansas State (KP #88, NET #98) (75% per KP)

If we can find a way to split Auburn/Kentucky and grind out wins in the other 3 then we'd head to LSU on January 29th at 12-7 (4-2) and probably ranked around 35-45 in NET. The next 6 are a grind : @ LSU, vs Arkansas, vs Tennessee, @ Georgia, @ Auburn, vs LSU, before a softer landing to end the year of vs A&M, @ Ole Miss, @ State, vs USCe, vs Vandy, @ Missouri.

This, from last night, is awesome

quote:

“It was huge,” Alabama coach Nate Oats said about Alabama’s work on the glass. “It was our No. 1 thing going in. With our health the way it is, we can’t do a lot of rebounding drills in practice so it was a lot of film work, a lot of watching where they would rebound. We challenged them. I thought John Petty did a great job. The first thing he said after the game was ‘Coach, when you watch the film, you won’t see my man get a single offensive rebound.’”

Does anyone know of a recap video from last night's game with highlights? I've been searching around and haven't found one yet. Wasn't able to watch.

10-8 in conference with a win over K-State is doable.

The player we see now is the John Petty Calipari wanted to sign.

Supposedly, the NCAA is trying to streamline many of the simpler cases that have schools cooperating with them

I'm not arguing your point, but I'm really not sure the NCAA has ever had a simpler or more damning case of cheating and major violations than Will Wade and LSU.

We were never going to make a final 4 run this year, but damn if it isn't refreshing to see a system in place and the players running it rather than wandering aimlessly around the court, forcing up bad shots at the end of the shot clock, and standing around watching the best player play iso basketball. shite, we're even capable of inbounding the ball this year without collectively shitting our shorts.

Sooner rather than later we won't be fighting to get off the bubble. We'll be a consistent top 15 team under Nate Oats and fighting for 1-4 seeds. The guy can flat coach

I've literally been yelling at the clouds for 20 years that all I want is a basketball coach who has a real system that he can teach and that his players, whoever they are, trust and are confident in running.

And my gawd we finally got one.

And when that system scores around 90 points a night, it makes it even more satisfying to watch.

I hope Herb Jones keeps improving his scoring around the rim. I think he's our most important player because he can do so. If he can start consistently scoring, it makes us so much better.

And my god, Reese baiting Perry into his 5th foul was such a thing of beauty.

Probably should’ve been called the possession before when Shack drove to the rim.

Gotta say, Reese and Galin can sometimes can be a liability on the defensive end, but they're still playing well as of late. Reese has show a couple times he can drive to the basket when he's one on one with a defender.

So this guy I work with told me he went to the Game last night and he said Oats must have screamed 1,000 times “TALK, TALK” when we were on defense

Great win last night

I felt yall had an edge but didn't see that big of a win coming. The rebounding numbers were impressive.

If Petty keeps this level of play up, he’s looking at being a 1st round draft pick, especially since this draft is the weakest it’s been in several years. He’s shot the ball with an unreal consistency (who would have ever thought that word would be associated with Petty?), but just as important he’s turned into a very underrated defender as well. You can tell his confidence is completely different this year. He’s never been afraid to shoot the ball, but previously if he missed his first 1 or 2 threes then he’d continue to miss them. IIRC he missed his first 2 or 3 shots (one of them badly) and proceeded to shoot lights out the rest of the game last night. Happy for him.

People are hyping Petty, which is merited, but I think Reese has shown the most improvement over last year. Petty had some really good games last year, he was just inconsistent. He's been solid this year.
