Seems like every person that drives on our team gets in the paint and leaves their feet with the ball and attempts to make a pass which has led to so many unnecessary turnovers. I would’ve thought that would be corrected by now but maybe it’s the only way to pass the ball to the guy in the corner for a 3?

Good news : We've played our 2 best games in the last 2 games. Our defense has gone from the worst I've ever seen in game 1 to above average. Our guys are on offense are clearly more comfortable with the pace and scheme. Some of the guys who struggled early are playing better now (Bolden, Petty).

Bad news : We just find ways to lose. We're currently a loser program that is used to losing and it's going to take a big something to break that mental block. Saban went through it in 2007 and Oats is going through it now. Also, Kira is still struggling to figure out how to play his best ball in this new offense. He just doesn't seem quite there yet, and it's really hurting us.

Herb has to have the lowest success rate in the history of college basketball on dribble drives/shots at the rim. I refuse to believe anybody has ever been worse more consistently.

Also - it really sucks that this team is 4-5, because if we played most teams schedules we'd be 6-3 or something and feeling like we were figuring things out.

Really need to build on these last 2 games and go 3-0 over the last 3 OOC games.

Samford should be a win, and then the next 2 are going to be grinders - Belmont/Richmond - but those are games we need to win.

Girls up 79-75 on undefeated UNC with 2 minutes left

Would make them 7-3 with wins over Clemson and UNC (and a loss to Hampton, somehow).

Girls hang on to win 83-77

While not as "good" a win as some of the Tennessee ones, the impact of this one early in the season and pushing them to 7-3 with a couple decent wins.......probably the biggest win of Curry's tenure.

Nice win for sure. Hopefully a win like this shows we can be pretty competitive against most of the teams in the SEC.

I haven't actually watched them play, but their results so far seem to indicate they should have a chance to be a bubble team. I have no idea how a decent team like they appear to have comes out and loses to Hampton. Their other 2 losses were competitive losses to Southern Cal and Iowa State.

Yeah, yesterday was a lot more solid game all around. It was certainly a positive that, in addition to Bolden being excellent, even guys like Forbes and Smith actually gave us a lot of pretty positive minutes with Petty and Javian in foul trouble. (I know I'm not only one that was expecting a big Penn St run when we had a Bolden-Forbes-Shack-Reese-Smith lineup for a stretch)

Yeah, just too many clutch possessions down the stretch that we squander and finishing around the rim continues to be a huge issue.

Last out of bounds play was even the coaching staff finding a way to lose. I have no idea why that personnel was spaced the way it was for the final inbound. Seems obvious you'd want Reese inbounding the ball since he could catch and shoot the three off a pass if necessary and someone who can at least create a decent effort off the dribble like Petty as the second option if you can't get the ball to Kira.

On the bright side, I think the team will continue to improve this season even if they don't hit Cecil's favorite 17-14 record.

It seems like they drive into the lane and jump up in the air without a plan of where they are going to pass, too many times.

With the first 2019-20 NCAA NET rankings being released today, it’s a good time to remember that a team’s own NET ranking does not matter nearly as much as its opponents’ NET rankings.

You are trying to build a resume, not attain the highest NET possible.

If true, Alabama is in good shape as they are tied with Florida at first in the league with an opponent NET rating of 124.
