Speaking for myself I never wanted to drive him off;just couldn't figure out why he couldn't shoot at all. He couldn't shoot layups or long range and was a turnover machine.
I thought he needed glasses. Sincerely hope he has turned a corner. He is a hard working dude.

Just looking at the scores Southern Miss must suck some kind of bad. So at least get a W and try to get some confidence back.

The guys that are there haven’t had any coaching or development in 3 years under Avery and now 6 games into Oats tenure people wanna bitch and wonder why we suck at fundamentals?? Really? Sounds like a bunch of FOGs to me.

i really dont expect much this year. the same guys that couldnt shoot last year, still cant shoot. i want to see if cno can recruit some shooters. good shooters erase a lot of mistakes.

I don’t believe you quite understand the grad transfer rule

The talent on this roster right now isn’t worse than what Avery had in his year 1, & we came damn close the March Madness. Obasahan, Taylor, Coleman, etc. that team blew

Obasohan his senior year is much more reliable than Kira as an 18-year old. Hall - despite being a freshman - was pretty good on the defensive end in '15. We have no rim protector, one good on ball defender, and one ball handler who isn't consistent on the offensive end.

This team is bad and would likely be in the same boat under Avery.

Avery didn’t lose 3 guys he was counting on to play major minutes before the season even started. Avery played in a much weaker SEC. Avery didn’t play probably the toughest schedule in the country.

What did lane Kiffin do when he had Blake sims? He built around his skill set. What did he do when he had Jake Coker? He built around his skill set. What did he do when he had Jalen hurts? He built around his skill set.

Is Oats going to figure out that these guys can’t run-n-gun and finally adjust, or is he really that stupid?

Why would he do that? He is implementing his style. It may lose this year but it will help in the long run.

How old are you, 12?

That’s not the way you coach. When you get your guys, play your style. This season, a different style is needed

When you only got 1 senior and the whole team will be back next year it is how you coach

Who the thought this schedule was a good idea? Some of these games were scheduled in the off season. Transitioning to a new coach with a new system without the ideal players to run it. We set ourselves up for disaster.

Have no prob. with the schedule. Denny Crum at Louisville played tough OOC for a reason.

Not by the knowledgeable basketball fans.

I'm not talking about those people. I'm talking about casual basketball fans and FOGs (the bulk of our fanbase) who see an 8-25/10-22 kind of record and immediately make up their minds that we must have hired our own version of Tony Barbee, Rick Ray, or Jonny Jones. Keeping fan support is pretty critical for the coach of a revenue sport. All of y'all acting like Alabama isn't a good enough program for people to be pissed about that kind of a season have lost your minds. We have 1 losing season this century. We haven't been world beaters by any means, but our usual mediocrity would be a massive improvement from this team.

Penn just beat UCF.

UCF thought they hit the game tying 3 at the buzzer....but his foot was on the line. Penn wins 68-67......that’s 2 lucky wins

looks like we played no D. And we gave up 80 points in the pre season game and that should have told you sunshine pumpers this was going to be a long year.
