So we are going to be 15-1 after today. Let's assume we win in Birmingham Tuesday (or whenever that rained out game is made up).
We go into conference play at 16-1. Let's just give reasonable guesses for the rest of the Season
- Missouri (2-1) (18-2, 2-1)
- @ Missouri St (W) (19-2, 2-1)
- @ Arkansas (1-2) (20-4, 3-3)
- Southern Miss (L) (20-5, 3-3)
- Auburn (2-1) (22-6, 5-4)
- @ Samford (W) (23-6, 5-4)
- UNA (W) (24-6, 5-4)
- @ Kentucky (2-1) (26-7, 7-5)
- Jax St (W) (27-7, 7-5)
- Tennessee (1-2) (28-9, 8-7)
- UAB (W) (29-9, 8-7)
- @ Texas A&M (1-2) (30-11, 9-9)
- @ Vanderbilt (0-3) (30-14, 9-12)
- Mississippi St (1-2) (31-16, 10-14)
- @ Jax St (L) (31-17, 10-14)
- @ LSU (1-2) (32-19, 11-16)
- Troy (W) (33-19, 11-16)
- Ole Miss (2-1) (35-20, 13-17)
35-20, 13-17
In Hoover as a #9-10 seed and probably right on the bubble

This is a nice response to yesterday.

Don’t do it George. Bama baseball is a heart ache looking for a place to happen.

I really hope we don’t go into the Ole Miss series needing two wins to get to 13 haha.

Nah, I feel pretty good about 12-13 SEC wins if everybody stays healthy.

I would so love to be good again like when I was in college. I remember watching us beat LSU 24-2, I think it was. That year we went to the championship game.

I just want to get to that Missou series and see what our bats and staff look like against SEC level clubs.

Probably gonna have to wait for Arkansas for that

We might not have a great season, but it’s encouraging to have a record like this against this type of competition. I’m impressed with the direction Coach Bo has us heading in. It’s a nice show of progress

The talent level has gotten better every year, and next year will be the year to really break through. On top of that, for the most part we play solid baseball.
I'm very happy with Bo.

Just to follow up the 2021 breakthrough post
Current Statistical Leaders
OF - Tyler Gentry (JR)
C - Sam Praytor (R-SO)
1B - Drew Williamson (SO)
DH - Owen Diodati (FR)
2B - Jim Jarvis (FR)
OF - Tate Jackson (JR)
OF - TJ Reeves (SO)
3B - Zane Denton (FR)
UTL - Peyton Wilson (FR)
2B/SS - Myles Austin (FR)
SP - Connor Prielipp (FR)
SP - Connor Shamblin (SO)
SP - Antoine Jean (FR)
RP - Chase Lee (SO)
P - Tyler Ras (SO)
P - Jacob McNairy (SO)
P - Brock Guffey (JR)
P - Landon Green (R-FR)
P - Garret Rukes (R-JR)
P - Dylan Smith (SO)
Accounting for losing a few of those possibly to the draft/transfer (Gentry being the main draft worry I'd think, possibly Praytor), that is basically the entire roster outside of Auerbach, Robinson and Casey Cobb. With a whole bunch of talented FR/SO having another year jump and adding another decent class as depth.

This might make me happier than anything. Make the other team beat you, don’t beat yourself. That pretty much applies to everything. One reason basketball is killing me

Yep - we aren't perfect, but we generally don't do stupid things, swing like cavemen or walk the ballpark. On top of that Bo is a pretty analytical manager of the game.
Basically, I enjoy watching us play ball. For the last few years most of our losses have clearly been because of a talent and experience disadvantage. We haven't been playing like the Bad News Bears, we just didn't have enough dudes.

Northeastern just took 2/3 from FAU
They've won 5/6 from FAU and USF

Arkansas needed a walk-off HR to win the series against South Alabama

SEC conference play starts this weekend.
The SEC is the premier baseball conference as far as parity/talent goes.
We've finished at the bottom 3 years straight.
We've got a chance at being 16-1 heading in to the Mizzou series.
Which SEC teams do you feel we will be better than this year?

Definitely
Mizzou
Kentucky
South Carolina
Maybe
LSU
Auburn
Tennessee
Close to, but probably still behind:
Arkansas
MSU
Ole Miss
TAMU
Will almost assuredly finish behind:
Florida
Georgia
Vandy
I think our ceiling is 8th and our floor is 11th in the league. 9th or 10th would be my wager if I had to place money on it
