That reminds me of some 14 year old dreaming about the season. “Let’s see. We win, win, win. Oh, better drop an L here just to keep it real.”
Haha yea only a kid would do that lol!

We would be the #1 overall seed with that resume

You mean we’re not getting to 50 wins this season?
Posted on 3/2/20 at 9:00 am to phil4bama
Sure we will. I mean, sweeping the regional, super regional, getting to championship series and winning 2-3. We dere.

In all seriousness we're going to be a tough out on friday nights if Prielipp can continue to work in the strike zone. 92-94 from the left side just isn't easy to hit, and I think our batting order will be in the top half of the SEC. Obviously things are going to get a lot tougher in conference play, but this doesn't look like a team that doesn't belong anymore. There's some considerable pop in the middle of the lineup and a calm approach at the plate. Myles Austin is our best prospect on paper and he's had a tough time seeing the lineup. We'll shock some people around the league this year. This is a good baseball team capable of winning a 3 game series against anyone imo.

I think we play 30 SEC games. If we go 15-15 I would be thrilled.

Alabama baseball's Peyton Wilson was selected as the SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. The SEC Freshman of the Week honor is the Crimson Tide's second of the year after Owen Diodati earned the recognition following Opening Weekend.

I'm really impressed with our freshmen. Diodati, Peyton, Jarvis, and Denton have all played well considering this is their first year of college. I'm sure once competition gets tougher they will come back down a little but you have to be encouraged for the future of the program with these guys

Shoot, how about Prielipp and Jean?
Having two freshmen starting on the mound Friday and Sunday is usually a recipe for disaster. I think this year we upset some teams and could even be in the conversation to host a regional. Next year and the following year I think we'll be good enough to go wire-to-wire in the top 25 when I look at what we brought in this year and some of the players we have coming in next year. Prielipp is going to be a monster by his junior year

Prielipp is a star and Jean will be very good going forward.
I am a little concerned about Shamblin/Jean as weekend starters in the SEC, and I'm concerned about Prielipp wearing down. He's never thrown many innings before in his life.
However, we have a pretty deep group of decent SEC arms and Bo has done a great job managing pitch counts so far.

Also - can't imagine they play tonight, and probably not tommorow either

You're right, I don't know how I overlooked them. I'm concerned with Jean's changeup/curveball hanging over the plate too much and I think better teams will expose that, but he is only going to get better. I know our pitching has looked pretty good so far, but I still think we are going to have to rely on our bats more throughout the season

Yea I agree.
We're averaging 8.75 runs per game right now and batting .329 as a team. A remarkable turnaround from the offense last season. Even against less than stellar competition those are both solid numbers.
Prielipp is actually pitching even better than I thought.
3-0, 15 innings pitched, 24 K to 6 BB, 0.00 ERA, 3 hits allowed
