Well, that's one way to look at it.

I choose to look at it like on his wheel bearings went bad, and they just had to slap a new one on there. Boom. Let's goooooo

Bama scored 7 points on offense against Tennessee in 2 and a half quarters without Tua.

So the answer is probably no.

Well, LSU didn't score a TD against MSU until 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, and didn't score a single point in the last 20 minutes of that game, a team that UT beat by 10. I know they pulled Burrow at some point, but my point is is that none of that really means anything regarding whether or not we can beat LSU without Tua.

I am absolutely of the opinion that we can beat LSU without Tua.

LINK ]Nick Saban provides latest on Tua Tagovailoa after ankle surgery (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Nick Saban provided an update on Tua Tagovailoa following his ankle surgery.

“The surgery was successful,” Saban said Monday. “There’s no real timetable for his return, but the expectation is he will be non-weight bearing for several days and then he’ll be able to come back as his rehab allows him. So, we’re hopeful that, in a 10-day period, he’ll be back being able to do pretty active type rehab, and we’ll see how it goes from there. But these things are pretty unpredictable at this point.”

On Sunday, Tagovailoa underwent a procedure to repair a high ankle sprain on his right ankle he injured in the Tennessee game. The Crimson Tide quarterback left Saturday’s game in the second quarter and did not return to the sideline after receiving medical attention.

But Tagovailoa rejoined his teammates in the locker room after the game, and according to linebacker Terrell Lewis, the junior quarterback said he will be ready to go for the LSU game.

“He said, ‘I’ll be back for LSU,’” Lewis said. “I know how Tua is. It’s something he’s been through before, so I don’t doubt the fact that he’s a competitor. He’s going to get right back, and he’ll be fine.”

Tagovailoa injured his left ankle in the SEC Championship Game last season and had 29 days between his next game in the Orange Bowl semifinal. He has 20 days until the LSU game.

Tagovailoa was 11-of-12 for 155 yards and threw an interception before the ankle injury. He was replaced behind center by Mac Jones, who finished the rivalry game 6-of-11 for 72 yards, and Jones will start this weekend’s matchup with Arkansas in place of Tagovailoa.

But the quarterback isn’t the only player expected to miss Saturday’s Homecoming game. True freshman kicker Will Reichard reinjured his hip during a 33-yard punt and was unable to return to the game. He was replaced at punter by true freshman walk-on Ty Perine.

“We did another MRI today to see what the damage is,” Saban said, “but I would say, just the fact that he reinjured himself to whatever degree, he’ll probably not be available this week.”

Saban did not provide a new injury update on junior defensive end LaBryan Ray, who has not played since Week 3 at South Carolina because of a nagging foot injury.

Alabama will play host to Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. CT (ESPN).

I mean even if Tua is 100% full go Saban isn’t going to say. Why would he give LSU the privilege of knowing?

Maybe.. but I think they prep for Tua regardless and if Mac Jones plays then well it really won't matter will it?

Just got to reiterate:

My sauce is still saying the sprain was on the bad side and that he would be shocked if Tua is 100% for LSU. Now few things I still think Tua plays but at what percentage who knows and also, if he is slightly slower LSU is sending the house until Tua is out of the game. Every play is going to have to be lightning fast and well guarded or he’s toast.

This was going to happen even if it's announced he's 100%. His ankle will be targeted by every pass rusher with the goal to knock him out of the game.

So if Tua isn’t 100%, what is his chance of playing vs LSU?

We will have to game plan around LSU doing this and throw where the rush is from. Tua has been pretty good on spotting it. And for god sakes throw it away.

I’m pretty sure he would play at 70%. They are going to MED him up and as long as mechanically he can go without pain. He’s the guy. The game plan will have to be shaped on him not being mobile.

Wouldn't be wise from an X and O standpoint. Our biggest weapon this year has been the quick passing game. Blitzing that is suicide. I'd almost expect them to drop 8 and clutter up the throwing lanes and force him to scramble or give their linemen time to get home.

I won't be shocked if they play a little dirty though. You saw it from Delpit last year

It would be if our D can't stop Burrow and crew.

Who cares if LSU gives up some points early if they can knock Tua out of the game. LSU's offense will be able to make up the difference.

I guess it depends. I saw MIss St go after him to some effect, had Miss St had any offense at all that’s a competitive game.

They may do as you say and mush rush and force Tua to move around of course he could torch them that way as well. Of course in LSU’s mind the thought could be hey it only takes ones hit.

I guess we are getting into a chess match. I do know this LSU is at least scoring 28. Probably 31-35. Unless our Def just turns into 2011.

What percentage was tua in last year's lsu game. Maybe 70%?? Their D was probably better last year. I don't know what to expect. Everyone's sauces indicate it's on the bad side

I think there are two keys
1. Protect Tua by great OL play and gameplan
2. Defense needs to step up. I know we’ve been saying this all year, but the fact remains. They need to pull their weight and take some pressure off the offense.

Also, I don’t think LSU’s D is quite as good as last year. So that’s a plus.

My man! If they want to play that game, I say let's run Najee 30 plus times and Robinson 15-20 times, right down their throats.

Really? I had a high ankle sprain and I was back in like 5-6 weeks. I guess they are all different though.

Miss state was astronomically a better defense than LSU though
