I really don't believe this sprain is anywhere near as severe as last season's.

Can he really get healthy by the LSU game though?
The issue is how badly it was sprained, to begin with. Other Bama players made it back long before Jalen Hurts last season. I believe I read where Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was back in a week.

I don’t either. His ankle literally almost broke against UGA. This one looks like it just twisted a little bit

I'm a lefty, that would be the foot he lands on. He'd plant with his left foot.

Another lefty here. I'd rather be sore after then throw than during the throw.

Found some articles saying Tua was practicing in 2 weeks last year and the UGA injury looked worse.

It wasn't.
It was probably a mild to moderate sprain. If you have the money and resources to hasten healing, even on a mild sprain, why not do it? People should you-tube the peocedure. It's simple, slick as snot and the most immediate concern post surgery is swelling control.
Everyone could see it wasn't serious.
When saban said "speedy recovery" and "one to two weeks" or whatever it was, he meant it.

Last year his ankle was amputated and then surgically stitched back on.

The injury against Georgia last year was bad. It almost looked like his ankle broke. Last night didn't appear to be nearly as bad. But I'm not a doctor or team trainer. Hopefully it heals fast.

Cam Rob had the same thing happen to him in 14, he was back in two weeks and played the entire game against LSU.

This seems to be more preventative for the future rather than any immediate concern. You're more likely to re-injure worse going untreated.
As others have stated, doesn't look to be worse than Jalen or even Tua's last year.
Here's a video from the doctor that most likely did the surgery on what it entails.
"We have them running Day 8."

I slept at a Holiday Inn xpress and I believe in NS and the docs and the trainers. I feel confident he will play vs LSU even if only 80%

Al.com beat writer and the very informative (sarcasm ) Matt Zenitz said his sources said the sprain was a "bad one" per twitter

I can't stand that guy or AL.Com. Bunch of hacks.

I am not a journalist apparently he is not either. He can't ask his sources if it was as bad as last year? Bad in relation to what?!

So bad he was barely walking with a limp.
