Speaking of diets he looks good, weight wise, compared to last year, so that has to help with stress put on the ankle.

Last year he was still in the scooter 7 days later.

I remember last year on the way to the Heisman ceremony on the charter plane, Jeff Allen had this portable machine where he'd put his foot in and it had electrodes or something that stimulated the tissue and helped with the healing process.

Bet He will be practicing Tuesday and taking it easy.

He would be 100 by the playoffs if we get through LSU with him not 100. Hopefully he is mobile enough to move away in the LSU game.

Was listening to the radio and they made the point that Tua wouldn't necessarily have to be as mobile against LSU

LSU doesn't have the push up front that a team like Auburn does. As long as the line does its job and Tua throws it away when necessary he shouldn't need to scramble much against LSU

What "%" do we give Tua during the playoffs? I'm not certain a 75-90% Tua is good enough to beat elite teams, especially with our defense in its condition

If that’s what you think then why’re asking about the playoffs? You’re saying you don’t think we’ll beat LSU. If we lose we’re not getting into the playoff.

I think you are right. Our OL is doing well, and we should scheme around getting it out quick and for god sakes throw it away when needed.

Probably. It would be Day 9. That would put him ahead of last year when he was able to practice Day 10.

Saban just said the injury was not severe as it was last year and noted that he was back practicing on day 12 last year. If anything, it sounds like hes back practicing in less than 12 days this time.

Aaron Suttles @AaronSuttles

Nick Saban on @GolicAndWingo said Tua Tagovailoa's ankle is not as severe as the injury he sustained last year. He also said last year that Tua was back on the field in 12 days.

wasn't Shuttles the one the chicken littles were quoting saying it was worse?

He said it was bad but didn’t say whether or not as bad as last year. He also said he wouldn’t be 100% which may be accurate.

“These things are hard to predict, but we want him to be three or four days non-weight bearing, and then he can sort of go as tolerated relative to his rehab,” Saban said on Golic and Wingo. “He was back on the field in 12 days before the last one. This one doesn’t seem to be quite as serious as the last one, and it’s not his plant foot to throw.

Saban doesn't just say throw away lines. They're optimistic.

To me it kinda plays out great. He gets 3 weeks to focus on LSU. No risk of getting him hurt against Arkansas.

And playing against Arkansas wouldn't have made a difference to the Heisman campaign.

I bet he comes back sharp.

Mentally sharp maybe but that’s gotta do a number on timing right?

I heard Aaron on the radio this week say it was worse than what he did against UGA. I don’t think Aaron is as connected as he used to be

I think this is definitely true. Cecil is the only one I think always has solid info. Suttles was alluding to Matta in the basketball search and Cecil is the one who got the scoop on Oats.

That being said, Suttles is a solid writer, and I'm sure he reported what he heard, just don't think he's getting the best info.

They really need to show him what Tom Brady does under serious heat.

Last year even when he was struggling to walk he’d move around and try to avoid being hit or stretch plays to be able to throw it away or make a play. A ton of those play resulted in him getting blasted and in awkward positions.

He has to be the one in control of how he gets hit. Take a “sack” where you just fall to the ground and live to fight another play. No need to get BLASTED while squirming around when you’re already most likely going to take the sack anyways.

If LSU is building a lead or it looks like they might, then do whatever is necessary. But UF the game has a normal flow, gtf down and play the next play.
