You're excited for 4 more years of this shitshow we have now?
I'm willing to bet that almost everybody who was old enough to vote in 2020 already knew how they were going to vote in this election four years ago. Truth be told, I had a bad feeling that I'd be voting for "not Donald Trump" in this year's election back in 2016.
I'm just ready to have all this over with, and I have been for a long time.

To be honest, I don't think he's ever given a damn about college football. Or even the NFL much for that matter, but he's done an occassional Jets comment
Unless he googles it before the game he probably still thinks Saban is the head coach

Yeah. I mean now probably more than ever it is impossible to change people’s minds. We are a nation of dug in people and our political races have become ugly and more about vitriol than anything.
If you’ve been alive and awake in the last 8 years I’m pretty sure you are damned and determined to feel how you feel on both sides. I can’t imagine after all we’ve seen what it would take to change anyone’s mind. We’ve got about another 6 weeks of this shite and then hopefully not any dragged out in the courts or insurrection and we can all move on.

Agreed. It's especially aggravating that people are so worked up over this election in Alabama, of all places.
It's not exactly like we're all on the edge of our seats wondering who's going to win Alabama's electoral votes, is it?

It’s a fair point. Most people aren’t changing anyone's mind. All I want is a great economy again, good to great interest rates, and lower taxes. All those things determine how many employees we keep and therefore provide better lives for people and their families.
Here’s what I know without being political. We had more people working for us under Trump and all 3 of those categories were better. That’s what I care about at this stage.
When I was younger it was strictly constitutional and things of that nature. Now it’s this.
A lot of people vote for someone for certain reasons. There is mine.

I can respect that Boz. As someone who worked in the financial sector, inflation(and therefore high interest rates that then caused higher unemployment because the Fed needed to balance supply/demsnd) was always going to happen no matter who was elected in 2020. Covid messed the world up and USA is having a fairly mild go of it compared to other places.
The decisions to print money and give out an ungodly amount of forgiven loans was a bad one in retrospect(although it was a scary time and we didn’t know how it would shake out). That was a bipartisan decision and has given us a pretty big mess that we are starting to somewhat pull out of. I don’t think the fix for that is to lower corporate taxes. Life would be better for average Americans if corporations weren’t skirting their tax obligations and paying less percentage than me. But that’s a separate debate.
The President doesn’t oversee or control the Fed so I don’t think anything on that front would’ve changed either way.

Just replying to let you know that I didn't downvote your post.
I appreciate the civility of your statement and I'm not going to argue against it because, as we've already said, debating is all but pointless at this stage of the game.
I will say that economic policy in general has very little to do with why I won't be supporting the former president in November, and I'll leave it at that.

Cool.
I certainly have a more vested interest in who wins seeing as they will be my boss.

Insane right?
It’s possible. People just have to let down the forcefield for a second and listen. I’ve had full blown disagreements with someone about politics but kept it polite. Even when they were breathtakingly wrong. One guy, and I’ll tell my grandkids this story, thought Congress, the House, and Senate were all separate bodies. While trying to tell me about policy and government works. I just smiled.

That man went on to coach Auburn football and become a Senator.

I definitely agree. While it can get hostile, usually you can have great conversations with people of different views and backgrounds when you talk about policies, values and ideas to better people's lives when you are open minded and let your guard down.
Now when it gets to the individual politicians all bets are off
. The devotion and hate gets ridiculous.
