I'd imagine he's out for a while for sure. Hope he can make a full recovery for his personal sake

Poor guy can't catch a break. Hope it's a quick recovery for him. He was running fierce against MSU.

LINK ]Alabama RB Trey Sanders in stable condition after car accident (BOL)
quote:

Alabama running back Trey Sanders was involved in a car accident on Friday, but the redshirt freshman didn’t suffer any significant injuries, BamaOnLine has learned. Sanders was home in Port Saint Joe, Fla., as the Crimson Tide has the weekend off during its bye week.

Head coach Nick Saban released the following statement Friday afternoon: “Trey Sanders was involved in a car accident this morning and is in stable condition after sustaining non-life threating injuries. We are in direct contact with his family and the physicians that are treating him as we continue to gather more information.”

According to a report from WMBB News 13, Sanders was in the car with his older brother, Umstead. Sanders had to be life-flighted to Bay Medical with non-life threatening injuries. ...

Non-life threatening or not significant? There's a big difference between the two.

Nobody on BOL has stated what Trey's injuries are. I suppose that's because they don't know.

That's a hell of a wreck.

I'm guessing the building took the most damage seeing as the roof is gone.

I'm guessing that building was damaged by the Hurricane that hit Port St. Joe.

Well it can’t be good. I’m hearing they helicoptered him from the little rural hospital there in Calhoun County to Bay Medical Center in Panama City. I work across the street from BMC. I can confirm there was a patient helicoptered in this afternoon. I heard the copter but had no idea it was Trey Sanders on it. Anybody got any word on his injuries?

ETA: Just read on Saturdays Down South that it was the younger brother that was taken to Bay via helicopter. No further news on Trey.

It appears you misread a poorly written article. Trey's older brother, Umstead was the driver.Trey is the "younger Sanders" who was airlifted. Their car's passenger side was struck:

LINK ]Reports reveal details on car accident involving Alabama RB Trey Sanders, brother (SDS)
quote:

Details are starting to come together regarding a Friday accident that involved Alabama running back Trey Sanders.

According to WMBB-TV’s Courtney Mims, the accident occurred in the morning hours as Sanders was driving with his older brother, Umstead, a Jacksonville State linebacker who transferred from Florida in February. They were then struck at an intersection in Clarksville, Florida, but fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening. However, the younger Sanders was airlifted to nearby Bay Medical Center in Panama City for further evaluation...

You cannot read anything into those terms. HIPPA allows hospitals to release simple, usually one word descriptions of a patient’s general condition. Lots of providers dumb it down to life threatening or non-life threatening.

Non-life threatening could mean anything from the patient lost a leg to we put a couple of stitches in his butt and sent him home. It’s sorta the medical version of coachspeak.

Eta - I can virtually guarantee you at least one part of that SDS story is wrong. It says Sanders was driving with his brother and was airlifted. That car was clearly struck by the SUV on the passenger side door. Nothing about the mechanism of injury suggests a risk of significant injury to the driver. Hell, the door still opens. The one at high risk was the front seat passenger. If Sanders was flown, he wasn’t driving.

If they airlifted him to a hospital I have to imagine they were significant even if non-life threatening.

I would have assumed we practiced and prepared for LSU and the remaining schedule but apparently not

Glad to hear that Trey wasn't significantly injured. Hope his brother is ok

not saying this is the case at all with trey sanders. but a person can be broken all to pieces and it not be life threatening. plus, they dont normally transport by chopper for bumps, bruises and cuts.

whatever the case may be for TS24, i hope him luck with a speedy recovery.
