I'd really like to ask Saban how he perceives the state of college OCs

Since he is striking out. I’d imagine the convo would go like this:

Shaft: “what do you think of the state of college OCs?”

Saban: “shite sucks. Aight. It’s like Imagine Dragons.”

Shaft: “Imagine Dragons?”

Saban:”Yea, imagine dragging deez nuts across your face.”

Mayfield is a liability in the NFL. Great college QB though.

Coach Saban is officially on vacation. N1UA landed at Coral Creek (outside Boca Grande) this morning. Coach and Ms. Terry usually spend a few days in Boca Grande after signing day.

In the past -- Saban has filled any open positions before making this trip. It does make you wonder if at least one of the coordinators have been filled from within.

Or he may have already hired someone from the outside after the series of interviews on Monday and it'll all be announced in due course. It's also possible he's waiting until after the Super Bowl to interview Brian Johnson (assuming he hasn't already).

For reference: Last year, N1UA arrived at Coral Creek on February 3rd. It made a return trip to Tuscaloosa five days later on February 8th.

Very possible. But I think the coordinator that could be hired from the inside is not on the offensive side of the field.

Are you referring to Grantham or Armstrong?

Yes. A Muschamp/Schu type deal.

We'll see.

That makes for an interesting question. Does that change the feelings of a Grantham hire for anyone here? If he's co/dc with a bright up and comer like Armstrong?

Id rather it be Armstrong, at least then there is some type of optimism until proven otherwise. With Grantham you get a known commodity. He is known to be worse than what we had. I am in a group chat with all of my buddies. Most of them GA fans, and they are salivating at the idea of Grantham being our guy.

So much we don't know that I'm not sure any conclusion can be made by us other than it's certainly not a slam dunk.

Who knows on Armstrong (supposedly very bright but never been at this level), how are the duties split up, what kind of input does each have, who calls plays, etc.

This is from a guy on BOL: Yesterday Coach said (in that voice he uses when he‘s really pissed) to stop guessing at who our coaches will be, to stop stating who you think they should be, and especially to stop saying who they shouldn’t be.

If you think you know who they should be, then just come apply for his job. If you don’t get it then ST*U. And if you post negative things about who they shouldn’t be, also ST*U because players read forums and that might actually be their next coach.

In summary, he said to TRUST HIM (and of course ST*U), so I will

If this is true Id say we know who we are getting.

Yep. He also made it clear Pruitt isn't happening.

Its an interesting take. What it says to me is I cant land the best guy for the job right now and the fact that you guys are mad about it makes me mad. I have set the standard for perfection or close to it and asked everyone to buy in, but only when it is convenient for me. Who knows, maybe I am just pissed.

Why? Because Saban is above question or criticism? What would your take be on what was said?
