I don't know about that.

LSU was behind Alabama in terms of prestige for nearly 30 years with the exact same coach they have right now. They built a brand new facility (announced and hyped for recruits a few years previous) and have suddenly turned into a 198 machine and pulling elite gymnasts from around the country.

Alabama's last major gym and facility update was under Mal Moore in 1996 (and it remained top of the line for the next ten years). I've seen it, it's quality, but compared to what the rival powers are building in the past 10 years, it's a windowless box. An upgrade is sorely due.

Then Alabama needs to pony up. Let's face it, collegiate gymnastics is the end of the road for these girls. OU competes in front of 3,000 people at home. Alabama competes in front of 10,000+ virtually every home meet. Elite gymnasts should be lining up to come here.

Hell, Alabama, Georgia, UCLA and Utah were the ONLY teams to win National Championships from the start of women's gymnastics in the 1980's until 2013 when Florida won their first and Oklahoma won theirs in 2014.

We need to make the facility updates that Arkansas and Oregon do for their track program. Make it a priority for recruits to come here.
